Normally, it would be easy to chalk the heavy action on the Giants up to typical Week 1 overreactions, but the Rams enter Monday Night Football potentially without Puka Nacua and definitely without Myles Garett. Here’s the problem: Los Angeles’ Week 1 was a huge outlier against one of the best teams in the league, and New York is flying across the country for a primetime game with a young team feeling itself. With the Broncos, Eagles and Bills ahead, this is as much of a must-win as a Week 2 game can be. LA still has plenty of talent rostered, including Davante Adams and an experienced defense, plus this line is at least a point below where it should be.

DraftKings. Blake Corum is coming off a 10-carry performance in Week 1 - a game in which the Rams were two scores behind for the majority of the second half. I’m expecting a much better effort from LA today, and at the least, staying in a neutral gamescript throughout. Corum will split with Kyren Williams, but this is a line that the third year pro cleared in seven of his last ten healthy games last season. With no Puka Nacua, I expect Sean McVay to go tight-end heavy and test the unproven Giants run defense.

DraftKings. I’m jumping on this combined tackles line for Kam Curl. The Rams safety only managed three in the opener against the 49ers, but that was on 46% of the defensive snaps, due to an ankle injury. With no injury designation tonight, I like him to clear the line that he exceeded in 12/17 games last year. Splitting time between free safety and in the box, Curl is just as proficient against the run (3.3 combined run tackles per game last season - third best on the Rams) as the pass. Look for Curl to be active against the likes of Cam Skattebo and Isaiah Likely tonight. The Giants are coming off a game in which the Cowboys two primary safeties managed 16 total tackles.

Jaxson Dart is averaging 36.1 rushing yards per game in short career, including 54 last week, with 3 designed runs in there. He's hit 32+ in seven of his last eight games, averaging 43.3 in that stretch. Last year vs. the Rams. Stroud went for 32, Hurts 40, Huntley 39, and Caleb Williams 40 vs. the Rams. Brock Purdy had 29 last week.

FanDuel. Jaxson Dart cleared this line in week 1 with 54 rush yards, and has a 9/13 success rate in his career in games he’s played the majority of the snaps. With three designed runs and three scrambles, Dart showed his dual threat ability against the Cowboys. And with the Giants going with heavy formations including multiple tight-ends and/or fullback Patrick Ricard, I like Dart to be able to get to the second level easily on the RPOs. The Rams allowed the 11th highest yard per carry on outside runs last season, and were torched in Week 1 by the 49ers. I’d bet this to over 34.5.

Cam Skattebo is the most best play in the prop market for tonight’s game when it comes to yards and anytime touchdown. Skattebo had 18 carries in the opener and should continue to get his carries especially with full-back Patrick Ricard leading the way. The Rams rush defense should be improved from last week, but still allowed 5.8 YPC against San Fran last week. Even with his season ending injury in Philly last season, Skattebo has gone over this number in six of his last seven games.

Jaxson Dart is already past this number with 54 yards on 11 carries in their week one victory. Myles Garrett heading to IR hurts to this Rams' pass rush, but Dart will still face heavy pressure from their defensive line as it always seems he takes a couple pops each game. Dart is now averaging 7.3 carries per game and has gone over 31 rushing yards in five of his last eight games. Dart has the ability to scramble off a broken plays to get over this rushing total again.

The Rams could be without Puka Nacua tonight, and another receiver is listed as doubtful. I expect we'll see a lot of multiple tight end looks from Sean McVay as a result and funnel the passing game through the position more than expected. Higbee played the least out of the team's four TEs last week, and these injuries figure to help him the most in getting on the field. He still had two targets last week and caught both, so even with a healthier WR corps, he could hit this Over.
Grabbing this before it possibly moves across the key number of seven, although I presume there will be buy back there if it does. The Giants look much improved after one week, but they're still in a different weight class from the Rams, who people are sour on after the Australia debacle. We're getting a little discount as a result here and I think the Rams take care of business in NYC, coming in a little ticked off about the embarrassment of Week 1 Down Under.

Malik Nabers didn't think he was going to play in Week 1 until John Harbaugh decided to tackle him before the game and scare him into playing. Coming off a torn ACL, he still had six catches on nine targets against the Cowboys. And while this matchup is significantly tougher for the second-year pro, I think the confidence of playing, coupled with the Giants potentially in a negative game script, bode really well for Nabers producing, particularly in the second half. Once he starts having big Nabers games, we won't see lines this low.

I don't really understand this price? Isaiah Likely scored twice last week, is clearly a breakout candidate this season without having to share targets at the tight end position, he's got a coaching staff that loves to draw up plays for him, a quarterback who trusts him and there's a decent chance the Giants are throwing a lot in the second half and Likely is coming off an eight-target, eight-catch game. I guess the argument is the spread and the team total, but the Giants are expected to score close to three touchdowns. I'll happily take almost 3-1 on this.

We're going to eat some chalk here on the Rams and Davante Adams. He's -125ish across the market so it's not an insane price and McVay will want to make his star wide receiver happy. Plus, this isn't really pricing this as if Puka Nakua isn't playing -- I'd think Adams would close closer to -140 once we know that Puka is out. And even if Puka plays, it's fine, because Adams is such a lethal goal line weapon. There's no way they can keep him off the field around the goal line again after the disaster in Australia.

The Rams allowed 174 yards rushing in Week 1 and two 49ers backs to easily top this number. Our model has Rams battering ram Cam Skattebo at 68 yards rushing on 15.7 carries. I'm sure New York would like to keep Matthew Stafford & Co. off the field whether Puka Nacua plays or not.

This is all about game flow. If you think the Giants keep the game close, then avoid this bet. But to me, this is a bounce back spot for the Rams so I believe Corum gets a long look in the second half. Last week, Corum got six first half carries vs. Kyren Williams' nine. Overall, Williams led the running back rushing attempts only slightly, 11-10. Last year, Corum had 11 or more carries in seven of the team's final 11 regular season games. The Rams won by at least a TD in six of those games. I have it 31-20 Los Angeles on Monday night and see Corum getting closer to 15 than ten attempts on Monday night.
It’s important not to overreact after opening week but I can’t help but be extremely encouraged with the New York Giants who at the moment, look like the best team in the NFC East. Conversely the Los Angeles Rams did not look good and it’s easy to write off their Week 1 loss considering the whole travel narrative, however Matthew Stafford looked his age, Myles Garrett is out for this game, the Rams could also be without Puka as well. New York looks like a significantly improved football team and I believe this game is likely to be competitive.

I’m double dipping on Cam Skattebo here as I believe the oddsmakers are way off the mark with Skattebo and the Giants. Both were extremely impressive in Week 1 and Skattebo showed off impressive burst and elusiveness. He was very effective toting the rock, despite not playing much on passing downs. Now he gets a Rams defense sans Myles Garrett that got shredded by the 49ers ground attack. I think the Giants might be the best team in the NFC East and I was very impressed with New York’s offense. I’d make this line at least 55.5 and think Skattebo is set up for another solid showing.

I’m buying the Giants as a legit team as well as Cam Skattebo and his Week 1 performance was certainly encouraging from a usage standpoint. Skattebo is a talented runner and the clear feature back. Skattebo is a very capable receiver and while I also like his rushing line, the Giants are 7 point underdogs in a game that could potentially provide some negative gamescript. Despite Skattebo not being utilized in the short area passing game he’s very effective catching passes and he’s capable of getting home on rushing yards alone. While I expect the Rams defense to play better, I think the Giants are undervalued and this game is likely to be competitive. I like the combo line as it provides some protection.

Did the bookmakers not WATCH Cam Skattebo last week? He had 18 rushing attempts for 81 rushing yards. While I wish Skattebo had a stronger receiving share as he did last year, he got 60% of the backfield touches. Yes, the Rams may have had a travel "hangover". But they gave up 133 rushing yards to the 49ers' running backs. Yes, the Rams likely gain Aaron Donald, but they lose Myles Garrett. This line is crazy low, and I'll be laddering it to 70+ rushing yards.
The Rams were embarrassed in Australia by the 49ers. But this team remains the Super Bowl favorite. Expect an emphatic answer from Matthew Stafford and the defense, even without Myles Garrett. The Giants ran through a sloppy Cowboys defense; this will be a true test for the young Jaxson Dart.
The Giants won last week, beating the Cowboys, and I'm sure everybody's going to like them this week. Also, the Rams struggled in Week 1 against the 49ers in Australia. But me liking the Giants has everything to do with what John Harbaugh has done for the Giants, merging all their early-round draft picks with key free agents, like his former Ravens at fullback and tight end. Jaxson Dart looked the best I've ever seen him as a quarterback. He was in control. He knew where to go with the football, and every time he was right in his choice. The Giants play in Hollywood, which is a perfect backdrop for Dart and Cam Skattebo. The Giants Super Bowl run makes a statement in LA.
Based on Week 1 alone, the Giants look like the side you want to be on, but this line was Rams -9.5 on the lookahead board last week. The late travel to Australia strategy which didn't work, but the travel was done that way as to be better for the Rams when they get back to Pacific Time Zone. 10 days off and against a Giants team, which looked great --- vs. an awful Cowboys defense. The Giants had 37.5 minutes of possession vs. Dallas, who allowed the G-Men to convert 9 of 11 third downs. Shouldn't have been a surprise as the Cowboys were 32nd in that category last year. But the Rams were 7th and won't let the Giants keep it that long.

Isaiah Likely had eight receptions on eight targets in his Giants debut. Even with Malik Nabers back, it’s clear that Likely will be Jaxson Dart’s go to guy/safety blanket. Los Angeles allowed a four receptions on seven targets to the Niners tight ends in Australia and we can except Likely to get more attention this week. Aaron Donald may play for Los Angeles but no Myles Garrett so as long as the Giants o-line can protect Dart, the targets will be there for Likely.
