Best sports betting apps: Top-rated handicapper reviews the best sportsbooks
SportsLine reviews the best online sports betting apps and offers honest opinions on FanDuel, DraftKings, Fanatics, bet365, Caesars and BetMGM

We have bet with the best sports betting apps in the United States and reviewed them to help guide you through the process of picking the best betting apps for you.
Our reviews include a breakdown of key features within each sports betting app, including welcome offers, banking options, and customer service quality. In our reviews, we also offer our opinion on the best apps for competitive odds and betting markets, and how easy (or difficult) each sportsbook is to navigate.Â
The six sports betting apps we reviewed are: FanDuel, Fanatics, DraftKings, bet365, Caesars, and BetMGM.
Keep reading for a breakdown of the best sports betting apps, from the top promos to the best in customer support.
Best sports betting apps: Winners for top welcome offers, odds and more
No sportsbook app is perfect. Some are easier to use, and others offer more promos to users every day. Some frequently have the best odds, while others rarely offer the best prices on the teams and players you want to bet. Let's reveal which sportsbooks won in our "Best of" categories.
Best welcome offer and other promotions
Fanatics is our top choice here. Its welcome offer is the best in the industry right now, in our opinion, and its FanCash rewards program is the most generous of the sports betting apps we reviewed.Â
Fanatics' current welcome offer has the potential to be worth up to $1,000 in bonus bets, which is substantially more than the 'Bet $5, get $200' offers at both DraftKings and FanDuel, which are next closest in total value for similar promotions. Fanatics' offer gives users an excellent opportunity to build a substantial bankroll in their first 10 days of opening an account, if they take full advantage. The value of Fanatics' bonus bets are based on the value of each user's specific wagers (up to $100), which offers new users more flexibility than other apps such as DraftKings, whose welcome offer Bonus Bets are all credited at $25 in value.
We also prefer the Fanatics offer over the one-time offers from Bet365, Caesars, and BetMGM. While these offers do have the potential to have a similar total value ($1000 for Bet365, $1,059 for Caesars, $1500 for BetMGM), the one-time, first bet use restriction forces users to wager $1,000 or more, which could be out of their comfort range, to get the full value of the promotion. Fanatics' offer simply gives new users more flexibility.Â
The FanCash rewards program is also the most generous in the industry, in our opinion. BetMGM and Caesars each offer a rewards program that can be used for hotel and resort stays, which is enticing, but both programs are tailored more towards serving high stakes players. FanCash rewards casual bettors and high stakes bettors alike. The program also allows users to choose between using their FanCash on bonus bets or in the Fanatics store.
Best user experience
We are split between DraftKings and FanDuel. We enjoy how easy it is to navigate these two apps. Both are extremely reliable, rarely have issues confirming your location to bet, and do not crash. Plus, each keeps adding to the experience with new features, like FanDuel's sports betting AI named "Betty".
Best key features
bet365 has incredible features. We love the each-way betting it offers and it is also one of the premier sportsbooks for live betting.
Each-way betting is a feature that has been around for decades at European, Canadian, and other offshore sportsbooks. It allows users to combine outright win bets with place bets, which is particularly enticing for betting on sports such as golf and racing. It may seem simple, but the fact that bet365 is the only sports betting app we reviewed that offers Each-Way betting gives it an edge in the 'best bet features' category.Â
When it comes to live betting, bet365 has multiple advantages over its competition. For starters, the bet365 app has an easy to find 'Live In Game' button at the bottom of the home screen that allows users to instantly toggle all live betting options the sportsbook is currently offering. From there, bet365 has, in our opinion, fair pricing on its live odds, and their offerings are more steady than other sports betting apps such as DraftKings and FanDuel, who often change live odds so quickly that users aren't able to get wagers placed in time. Â
Best betting markets and odds competitiveness
We give DraftKings the edge here. Not only does DraftKings have a great selection of betting markets, but it's also among the industry leaders in live odds and straight bet pricing.
Best banking options
Almost every app accepts the same forms of payment for deposits, which includes credit or debit cards, bank transfer, Paypal, Apple Pay and Venmo We haven't had any issues withdrawing funds at any of the sportsbooks we reviewed, but we will say that Fanatics was the quickest at getting the money we withdrew into our bank account.
Best customer support
DraftKings has the best customer support. To be fair, we have far more experience with DraftKings than any of the others when it comes to customer service, but we have always been satisfied with its speed and the resolutions we have come to.
DraftKings offers customer support 24 hours a day, seven days a week through Live Chat and callback features, which is similar to other sports betting apps. What we really appreciate from DraftKings, however, is its availability on X (formerly known as Twitter). We have reached out to the DraftKings Assist account (@DK_Assist) with concerns multiple times, and each time they were quick to get in contact with us and the situation was resolved quickly.Â
Best Responsible Gaming tools
All of the six sportsbooks we reviewed showed a commitment to responsible gaming with tools to help bet safely and responsibly. This includes, but is not limited to being able to access National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) contact information and resources; features to set spend, time and deposit limits and breaks from wagering; and the ability to permanently self-exclude yourself from the respective app.Â
Honest reviews of the best sports betting apps
Every sportsbook app looks different, but all of the best betting apps have the same core mission. They exist to allow people to have fun by gambling responsibly and to pay people if they win bets. That starts with the best sportsbook promo codes for new users but continues with daily bonus offers for existing users. But if the app's tech delivers a poor user experience, it's not as much fun to use. Â Â
In this section, we review every aspect of the best apps in sports betting, including the latest developments, so you know what to expect before signing up for a new account or returning to that sportsbook to bet.Â
FanDuel Sportsbook
After building a successful brand as a top daily fantasy sports app, FanDuel Sportsbook has since established itself as one of the most popular sports betting apps in the United States today. It's almost always number one in industry market share. Â
FanDuel Sportsbook promo code
FanDuel is currently offering new customers a 'Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets if Your Bet Wins' promotion. To be eligible for this welcome offer, new users who sign up for the FanDuel Sportsbook app must deposit $5 or more and then place a wager of at least $5. If the bet wins, the bonus bets will be credited to their account within 72 hours.Â
FanDuel promos for existing users
In addition to its current welcome offer, FanDuel offers multiple daily and weekly promotions and odds boosts to existing users. For example, FanDuel often offers a 30% profit boost for same-game parlays or straight bets around big events across every sport. FanDuel also offers No Sweat Bets, where you get bonus bets back if your bet loses.
One shortcoming of the FanDuel app was the amount of time it took for promo offers to become available after opting in. Often, it took 10-15 minutes for the offer to be available for us.Â
FanDuel also consistently offers "No Sweat SGP" insurance.
While bonus bets are not available for withdrawal, any winnings derived from bonus bets and promotional offers are immediately withdrawable.
Betting markets and competitiveness of odds
FanDuel offers one of the most comprehensive odds markets in the industry. For avid prop bettors, FanDuel has extensive offerings for every sport out there. When it comes to NFL betting, FanDuel is one of the only sports betting apps that consistently offers props for kickers and punters.
FanDuel app user experience
In terms of user-friendliness, the FanDuel Sportsbook app ranks near the top of the industry. In our eyes, FanDuel is tailored more toward the casual bettor, who is looking for a wide array of betting options. Â
FanDuel is always an app to consider when shopping for the best odds. It consistently is among the quickest sportsbooks to adjust lines and has more offerings than most sportsbooks. Given its standing as one of the most popular apps among casual bettors, there are plenty of opportunities to find value at FanDuel with its extensive wagering menu.Â

FanDuel Sportsbook app customer serviceÂ
Whenever we've experienced an issue with the FanDuel app, the customer service team has been easy to work with and professional. Because of the quality of its app, we haven't needed to contact support often, but our experience has always been quick and painless.
Unique features of FanDuel Sportsbook app
One feature that stands out on the FanDuel app is the 'Popular Bets' tab. This information is useful, even if you won't necessarily use it very often.
Additionally, FanDuel was a pioneer of the same-game parlay (SGP) feature, which has since become a staple of all the top sports betting apps.
FanDuel Sportsbook overview (as of 1/22/2025)

FanDuel Sportsbook app summary
Pros:
- Excellent reliability: Rarely crashes, quick navigation with few bugs
- Strong promos: For both new and existing users, including no-sweat bets, profit boosts, bet-and-get bonuses, and the occasional deposit match
- Shared wallet: Allowing funds to be used across any FanDuel product (DFS, horse racing, FaceOff, etc.)
- Large selection of alternate lines
- Fast withdrawals
- My Spend feature:Â Lets you track your activity and practice responsible gaming
Cons:Â
- No loyalty or rewards program
- Sports betting AI named "Betty": Groundbreaking for a sportsbook app but has trouble finding some odds, rendering it unreliable.Â
- Live betting: Sometimes a bet is accepted at worse odds without first asking you if you want to automatically accept odds changes.
- Customer support: Difficult to find an email option in the app if you do not want live chat
Overall, FanDuel Sportsbook is deserving of being the No. 1 downloaded sports betting app in the United States. It's reliable in every facet of sports betting with generous promotions and competitive odds.Â
DraftKings Sportsbook
DraftKings is widely considered to be the most well-rounded and user-friendly online sportsbook in the United States today. Like FanDuel, DraftKings built off its success as a DFS app to become one of the top sportsbooks in the industry. DraftKings was one of the first online sportsbooks to capitalize on the sports betting boom of the early 2020s and has an app that is tailored to serve novice and experienced bettors alike. Â
DraftKings Sportsbook promo code
DraftKings' current welcome offer is a fairly standard and straightforward bet-and-get promo. New users who place a minimum wager of $5 on any sport will receive $200 in bonus bets instantly. Bonus bets expire after seven days. This is a solid offer for casual, lower-stakes players, but would not be overly appealing to a higher-stakes player. Â
DraftKings promos for existing users
In its early days, DraftKings was more aggressive in its promotional offers for existing users. It has since slowed down significantly on that front, and this is an area where DraftKings falls short of its competition. It still offers a decent amount of 'No Sweat' parlay insurance boosts and live bet profit boosts. These offers are typically limited to $10-$25. Â
DraftKings betting markets and odds competitivenessÂ
DraftKings ranks near the top of the industry in this category. Not only does DraftKings offer odds on niche sports such as cornhole, cycling, darts, and esports, it also has some of the best live odds markets in the industry. When it comes to NFL betting, the only app that is comparable when it comes to overall betting markets is FanDuel. Â
DraftKings app user experienceÂ
Overall, the experience with the DraftKings app has been great. The interface is easy to navigate, and we rarely have login, location or operating speed issues. You can find odds for almost anything you want to bet on, and DraftKings' prices are typically some of the best out there. Â
On the negative side, DraftKings has become far more restrictive and less generous in its promotional offers for existing users.

DraftKings Sportsbook app customer service Â
We have had a decent amount of experience working with the DraftKings customer service department throughout our time using the app. We typically use the Live Chat feature, which has been sufficient to solve all our problems up to this point. We appreciate the fact that DraftKings will send a transcript receipt of all live chats to our email upon completion.Â
Unique features of the DraftKings Sportsbook appÂ
DraftKings has a rewards program, but in our opinion, it simply is not on the level of Fanatics, BetMGM, or Caesars. The DraftKings app does, however, offer various games, some of them being free to play, that offer added benefits to existing users. Â
For example, DraftKings ran NFL Playoff Bracket pools, where users were able to buy entries and predict the exact outcome of the remaining games in the NFL Playoffs.

DraftKings Sportsbook app summary
Pros:
- Many great promos: For new and existing users, which continue to get more creative. For example, the King of the Endzone promo for the longest NFL touchdown on Wild Card Weekend awarded more than $13,000 in bonus bets to users who bet on Bills WR Curtis Samuel.Â
- App is very reliable: Few crashes and fast navigation.
- Pick em pools: DraftKings is the only sportsbook app that is also offering pick' em pools to compete in for cash.
- Social: The social function allows you to connect with friends and talk about sports betting in the app.Â
- Fast withdrawals
- Shared wallet:Â With DraftKings DFS appÂ
Cons:
- Rewards program It takes a long time to earn anything of significance with Dynasty Rewards.
- Deposit matches: These are rare compared to other sportsbooks.
- Same-game parlay catalogs:Â Typically have fewer options than FanDuel.
Overall, DraftKings Sportsbook needs to be part of the rotation for any sports bettor looking to shop for the best odds. There are too many daily promos to ignore potential valuable bets. Despite a rewards program that doesn't move the needle for us, it is one of the top two sportsbooks in the United States for good reason.Â
Fanatics Sportsbook
Fanatics Sportsbook has burst onto the sports betting scene since launching in January 2023 after purchasing PointsBet. Unlike some of its peers, Fanatics does not have a desktop site and only operates via its online sports betting app. Fanatics was later to the game than most online sportsbooks, but has since made up ground on its competition thanks to aggressive promotional offers and what we believe to be the most generous rewards program in the industry. FanCash rewards users with up to 10% of their bets back in FanCash, which can be used for Bonus Bets and to shop in the Fanatics store. Â
Fanatics Sportsbook promo codeÂ
Fanatics' current welcome offer is unique in that it offers new users up to $100 in No Sweat Bets for 10 straight days. Here's how this works:
For each of your first 10 days at Fanatics Sportsbook, your first bet of the day (up to $100) will be considered a No Sweat Bet, meaning it is insured. For example, if your first bet of Day 1 is $50, and the bet loses, Fanatics will credit your account with a $50 bonus bet. If your first bet of Day 2 is for $75, and it wins, you will be credited your stake + cash winnings. This continues for 10 consecutive days to start out with Fanatics.
Fanatics promos for existing users
Fanatics' promotional offers are right on par with others in the industry and can vary by user. Relatively new Fanatics users typically receive SGP Profit Boosts and Parlay Profit Boosts.
Fanatics betting markets and odds competitivenessÂ
Fanatics does not have the massive odds offerings that some competitors offer, and it does not offer a ton in terms of alternate lines. It may lack betting markets, but it makes up for that with quality pricing in its odds. In our time using Fanatics, it has been rare to see a standard spread or over/under bet fluctuate from anything other than the standard –105, –110, or -115 cost. Â
Fanatics user experienceÂ
This one is simple. If you were a fan of the PointsBet app, then you might be a fan of the Fanatics Sportsbook app. While there are numerous differences (and enhancements), the overall feel and layout of the Fanatics app are remarkably similar to what PointsBet had in place during its time in business. Â
The app is user-friendly and intuitive. One feature that stands out on the Fanatics app is the ease of finding and using bonus bets and promotional offers.

Fanatics Sportsbook app customer service Â
Overall, the Fanatics Sportsbook customer support system is satisfactory, but be prepared to verify account details and your identity before being able to get your questions answered.Â
Click on the profile icon at the top-right corner of the home screen for a "Chat with us" option. That button immediately connects the live chat within customer support.Â
Email support is also available by messaging support@betfanatics.com. Lastly, an FAQ section is available on the app. No phone number is available for Fanatics Sportsbook support.Â
Unique features of Fanatics Sportsbook appÂ
One unique feature that Fanatics offers is the attractiveness of its golf betting markets. For golf specifically, Fanatics regularly offers "without" markets. For avid golf bettors, this advantage (where you can bet the tournament as if the favorites weren't playing) is unmatched in the industry. Â
Another feature that stands out is Fanatics' FanCash rewards program. This rewards program gives you credit back on each of your bets that you can use towards the Fanatics store or be redeemed for bonus bets.Â
A relatively recent addition to Fanatics Sportsbook is the Fair Play initiative. With this feature, if you bet on a player prop (either a straight bet or leg of a parlay) and the player gets injured before a certain point in the game and does not return, Fanatics will void the bet. It's a nice gesture that will likely draw in more prop bettors.

Fanatics Sportsbook app summary
Pros:
- Strong sign-up promo: Up to $100 in No Sweat Bets each day for 10 days gives new users the chance to win cash profits + bonus bets.Â
- Best sportsbook rewards program: It does not take long to earn enough FanCash to convert into meaningful bonus bets or money towards Fanatics store purchases.Â
- Search function: Unlike some other sportsbook apps whose search function is very unreliable, searching team or player names on Fanatics is reliable.
- Fast withdrawals: Get your money quickly
- Very competitive odds: Fanatics Sportsbook, in my experience, often features the best odds for big games and are slower to adjust after line movement at other books.Â
- Reliable app:Â Rarely crashes with fast navigation
Cons:
- Quick to take away daily promos: Fanatics Sportsbook was the fastest we've experienced in ending daily promos completely. If you win too often, be prepared to lose them.Â
- Disorganized prop menus:Â Everything tends to blend together into a long list making it hard to find what you want.
Overall, Fanatics Sportsbook is a great experience mostly for new users. The sign-up promo offers the most upside for novice bettors, as it's the only one that presents the opportunity to win serious cash profits if No Sweat Bets win and still get hundreds in bonus bets if some of the No Sweat Bets lose. It also rewards bettors for coming back more than any other app with a FanCash Rewards program that is the best of any sportsbook app.Â
bet365 Sportsbook
bet365 is one of the most popular sportsbooks outside of the United States – particularly in Europe – but it has recently embarked on an aggressive campaign geared towards building its brand and growing its presence in the U.S. bet365 offers arguably the most expansive odds and betting markets in the industry, covering everything from the major sports (football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey) to niche sports like snooker, surfing, and darts.Â
bet365 Sportsbook promo code: SPORTSLINE
bet365 is currently offering new customers a choice between two welcome offers. The first is a relatively standard "bet $5+, get $150 in bonus bets win or lose". New users can deposit a minimum of $10 and bet $5 or more on any market with odds of -500 or longer. Upon settlement of the bet, users will receive $150 in bonus bets that must be used within seven days. Â
The second offer on the table from bet365 is a 'First Bet Safety Net.' New users who deposit a minimum of $10 and place their first bet up to $1,000 will get the amount staked credited to their account in bonus bets. Â
New users can only choose one welcome offer.
bet365 promos for existing users
bet365 is relatively generous in its daily promotions and odds boosts. It regularly offers sport-specific odds boosts and parlay boosters, but one of bet365's more unique offerings is its 'instant payout' promotions. Â
We have seen these types of offers from other sportsbooks, but they are uncommon. Instant Payout boosts are simple: If you place a straight bet on a pre-specified team and the team goes up by a certain number of points at any time in the contest, your bet wins, even if the chosen team ultimately loses.
bet365 betting markets and odds competitivenessÂ
One of the biggest draws to betting on bet365 is the competitiveness of its odds and its expansive betting markets. bet365 is particularly strong when it comes to its soccer markets, due to its massive presence in Europe. Â
For us, the biggest differentiators that favor bet365 are its offerings of each-way betting (a win bet and a place bet combined into one bet) and expansive and often favorable live odds. bet365 is the one of two legal sports betting apps (along with BetRivers) in the United States that allows each-way betting.
bet365 user experienceÂ
Like all sports betting apps, there are some pros and cons to using bet365. On the positive side, the bet365 app makes it extremely easy to use promotional offers. Other apps aren't as intuitive as bet365 when it comes to making earned promos easy to find and use on the app.
On the negative side, we experienced issues on multiple occasions when the app was running location services to make sure we were in a legal state.
Overall, the bet365 app and user interface make finding and placing bets a very positive experience.

bet365 Sportsbook app customer service Â
We have used the live chat feature to check the status of our bonus bets, and the process was both fast and easy. bet365 has both a live chat and phone option that are both available to users 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our experience with the bet365 customer service department has been smooth, outside of a longer than expected wait time when calling their support phone number. bet365 also offers email support.Â
Unique features of bet365 Sportsbook appÂ
As mentioned earlier, offering each-way betting is a huge advantage to using the bet365 app. Each-way betting often comes into play when wagering on sports and events that have longer odds, such as golf and auto racing. Rather than simply betting an outright winner, which often can be viewed as a longshot, placing an each-way bet allows users to cash in if their pick either wins or finishes near the top of the leaderboard. With the growing popularity of golf betting, this is a feature that sets bet365 apart from its competition.Â
Another unique feature of the bet365 app is its unmatched live odds page. In our opinion, bet365 offers the easiest to navigate live odds page among the sportsbooks we reviewed. There is an easy to find button on the app's homepage that allows users to instantly toggle all available live betting options, and the available odds and betting lines are steady enough to get wagers placed without the constant updates that we experienced on other apps.

bet365 Sportsbook app summary
Pros:
- Great bonuses: Both for new users and returning users, with daily promos that are starting to be as strong or better than DraftKings and FanDuel.
- Customer support: Easier to find help, and the Web Messages option with a dedicated in-app inbox is the best of any sportsbook customer support feature.
- Each Way betting: A style of betting that is new to Americans but common in Europe; bet365 and BetRivers are the only American sportsbook apps that offer it.
- Enhanced Win odds: Odds that often offer a bigger potential payout vs. other sportsbooks. This can be in higher odds for futures bets, and plus-money odds on live bets.
- Search: The search tool at bet365 is better and more reliable than BetMGM and Caesars, while on par with other apps like DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics.
Alternate lines:Â bet365 is the only sportsbook that rivals FanDuel in posting a wide variety of alternate lines for player props with competitive odds.Â
Cons:Â
- App reliability: Sometimes the bet365 app cannot find your location and re-starting the app is the only way to solve it.
PayPal deposit minimum:Â $30 is the highest deposit minimum for PayPal of any sportsbook
Overall, bet365 Sportsbook is a treat. Yes, it is frustrating at times to have to restart the app to get the location services to work. However, the bet-and-get bonuses for SGPs are the best of any sportsbook. We have staff members that love golf and like to bet on it, and bet365's each-way and Enhanced Win markets make it the best place to bet on golf, in our opinion, or other sports where these types of markets would be applicable.Â
BetMGM Sportsbook
BetMGM is one of the most popular sports betting apps in the United States. BetMGM has been around since the legalized sports betting boom began and has significant brand recognition thanks to related company MGM Resorts' longtime presence in Las Vegas. BetMGM's betting markets may not be as robust as some of its competitors, but it does have one of the premier rewards programs in the industry, through which bettors can earn MGM Rewards Points that can be redeemed for hotel stays, dining, entertainment and more. Â
BetMGM Sportsbook promo code: SPORTSLINE
BetMGM's current welcome offer favors larger stakes players. The current first bet offer is worth up to $1,500. New users can click our link to access the BetMGM app, deposit at least $10, and then place a wager. If the bet loses, users will be credited with bonus bets in the value of the stake of their first bet (up to $1,500). Bonus bets must be used within seven days or will expire.
BetMGM promos for existing users
BetMGM offers multiple promotions on a daily basis. It is common to see odds boost tokens and parlay boost tokens every day, with second-chance offers for first-goal scorers and first-touchdown scorers being available more sporadically. Â
We regularly use the odds boost tokens when betting on the BetMGM app, but our biggest complaint would be the betting limits (for us it was $20 in most cases).
BetMGM betting markets and odds competitivenessÂ
BetMGM's odds and betting markets are comparable to the likes of DraftKings and FanDuel. BetMGM is actually our sportsbook app of choice when it comes to making futures bets (championships, MVP winners, etc.) due to its favorable odds. Â
We have had some issues placing longer odds parlays with BetMGM limiting our stakes to very small amounts, oftentimes under $10 per parlay. Â
BetMGM user experienceÂ
The BetMGM user experience is a mixed bag. The Face ID login feature has been inconsistent, and the app is slow and often crashes.
One nice feature the app does have is its streaming function. We aren't the biggest tennis bettors, but while testing out the streaming feature on the BetMGM app we also placed a live tennis wager with ease.

BetMGM app customer service Â
The BetMGM app has several complaints about its customer service in app store reviews, but our experiences as a whole have been positive. We had some verification issues several years ago that were frustrating, but they were eventually taken care of. Â
More recently, we dealt with a misunderstanding of the welcome bonus. We reached out to BetMGM customer service and explained what happened, and they returned the bonus bet tokens to our account.
Unique features of BetMGM appÂ
As previously mentioned, the BetMGM app allows users to stream certain events and place live bets while streaming. Despite some expected glitches, this feature is unique and offers bettors a chance to sweat out their live bets on the BetMGM app from anywhere.
BetMGM also allows users to link their accounts to MGM Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy accounts. This allows users an unmatched ability to earn real-life rewards in the form of entertainment and hotel stays at numerous destinations.
This is minor, but we also like how the BetMGM app has an easy-to-find button that takes you directly to a page with all available promos.Â

BetMGM Sportsbook app summary
Pros:
- Daily profit boosts: It's hard to go a day without some type of 20% or 30% profit boost waiting in your account.
- Deposit matches: BetMGM will offer existing users a deposit match of bonus bets to reload their accounts more often than other sportsbooks.Â
- Ties paid in full: For sports with markets where you can bet on a player or team to finish in the top five, top 10, etc. BetMGM will pay you in full instead of just a partial payout (dead heat rules) if there is a tie for top 5, top 10, etc.Â
- Second Chance Touchdown: Get a first TD scorer bet back in bonus bets if the player doesn't score the first touchdown but does score the second.
- Strong MGM rewards:Â We've earned comped weeknights at Las Vegas MGM hotels just for being a BetMGM customer.Â
Cons:
- Worst app functionality: The BetMGM app is slow, buggy, and difficult to navigate. It is easily the most frustrating sportsbook app to navigate across American sportsbooks.
- Bad search: The search function in the app is very hard to use and sometimes doesn't show results for a player or team you type into it.Â
- Lackluster sportsbook rewards:Â While the MGM rewards are attractive, it takes a long time to bet enough to earn bonus bets.Â
Overall, using the BetMGM app is cumbersome. It works. It will take your bets, but it is not fun to navigate the app with how slow it is to go from one menu to the next. It needs a complete overhaul. What keeps us coming back are the generous promotions and the ability to get comped nights on off-peak dates at MGM properties just for being part of the rewards program.Â
Caesars Sportsbook
Caesars Sportsbook launched its online betting app in 2022 and has since established itself as one of the premier online sports betting apps in the industry. The Caesars app is considered by many to be the easiest app in the industry to navigate and place bets on. In addition to being user-friendly, Caesars also has a very generous rewards program.Â
Caesars Sportsbook promo code: SPORTSLINE1000
Caesars is currently offering new users one of the more unique welcome bonuses we've seen, one that is appealing to more beginner bettors.
New users who bet at least $1 on their first wager will receive a Bonus Bet of up to $1,059 back if their bet loses, equal to the stake of the Qualifying Wager. If a new user places more than one wager on their first bet slip, the first listed wager on the bet slip will be considered the Qualifying Wager. The bonus bet if received will be active for 14 days and is not withdrawable as cash or as part of winnings. Unused profit boosts will expire.
Caesars promos for existing users
Caesars offers daily profit boosts for both same-game Parlays (SGP) and standard parlays. Many of these are sport-specific and range in value from 30% to 100%. One downside is that Caesars often limits the stakes of these to $10. Â Â
We've noticed that Caesars promo offers tend to be geared more towards parlays than straight bets, which is something that doesn't appeal to everyone. Regardless, the number of profit boosts offered for major events is a nice benefit of the Caesars Sportsbook app.Â
Caesars Sportsbook betting markets and odds competitivenessÂ
Caesars Sportsbook's betting market and odds are very comparable to the likes of DraftKings and FanDuel. Caesars is, however, the only app that truly competes with bet365 in terms of live betting odds and options, particularly when it comes to NFL and college football betting. One area where Caesars falls short is in its football prop bet markets. Â
Caesars Sportsbook app user experienceÂ
Overall, the experience when betting on the Caesars Sportsbook app has been positive for us. Building parlays and shopping promotional offers is extremely easy, and the rewards program is an attractive bonus. One area where the Caesars Sportsbook app could improve is in prop bet offerings, particularly during the NFL regular season.

Caesars Sportsbook app customer service Â
Aside from a small hiccup during the transition from William Hill to Caesars, we have had no issues with Caesars' customer service department. Â
We used the Live Chat feature to sort out our issue. It took a minute to get past the automated responses, but the agent we worked with solved our problem in a couple of minutes and offered a bonus bet to compensate for the time it took to resolve. Â
Unique features of the Caesars Sportsbook appÂ
The most unique feature of the Caesars Sportsbook app is the Caesars Rewards Program. The loyalty program benefits higher stakes players more than it does casual bettors, but it is very comparable to the BetMGM reward program. Users can earn Tier Credits that can be used to purchase tickets to shows or sporting events, book hotel stays, and can be redeemed for bonus bets. Â Â

Caesars Sportsbook app summary
Pros:
- Highest upside welcome bonus: You cannot earn bonus bets for signing up, but "double your winnings" tokens do create a higher ceiling for cash profits.Â
- Bet-and-get promos: Caesars will sometimes offer bonus bets for betting on specific markets
- App functionality:Â The app is fast and reliable, with few crashes
Cons:Â
- Odds not competitive: For those that compare odds frequently, you will find Caesars rarely has the best odds.Â
- Daily promos are lackluster: Because the original odds are not competitive, adding available boosts to them will not create odds that are better than other sportsbooks.Â
- Boosts: Offerings with boosted odds will sometimes be the same as unboosted odds at other sportsbooks
- Same-game parlays: The catalog of options for same-game parlays is less robust than FanDuel or DraftKings
- Rewards program:Â It takes a long time to earn anything of significanceÂ
Overall, Caesars Sportsbook is probably at the bottom of the list for bettors that are price-sensitive. If you care about finding the best odds, you will rarely find them at Caesars. Its same-game parlay offerings are also well behind its competitors. If Caesars were to feature more competitive odds, its various promos would be more fun to bet. However, using the app is a fine experience with few tech issues.Â

Troubleshooting allowing your sportsbook app to use your location
If you accidentally did not allow your sportsbook to use your location when using the app, go to your phone location services and allow it for that app.Â
On iPhones, go to Settings and select Privacy & Security, and then Location Services. Pick the sportsbook app, and make sure ever is not selected. The best option is While Using the App.Â
On Android devices, these are the steps, go to Settings and tap Location. Toggle "Use Location" on. To add the Location toggle to your Quick Settings menu, swipe down twice from the top of the screen. Tap edit, and then drag Location into your Quick Settings.Â
As for the desktop version of betting sites, enabling your location can be tricky and more frustrating. Sportsbook desktop sites will sometimes require you to download and install geolocation software onto your computer before betting. This is one reason why the user experience on sports betting mobile apps is far better than on sites.Â
Why do I have to share my location to bet on sportsbook apps?
State laws require you to be physically located in the state in order to bet on sports. Therefore, sports betting sites use geolocation software built into the apps to find your location. If you are located near a state border with no betting on the other side, you may need to move further away from that border or connect to a wifi network to bet.Â
Sports betting from an app vs. desktop
When it comes to sports betting, both apps and desktop websites offer users the option to place bets. So, how do users decide which platform of a sportsbook to bet on?
Betting from a sportsbook app
Placing bets via a sportsbook app has several advantages. For example, apps are designed for on-the-go use, so you can place bets anywhere and anytime. Additionally, most apps offer features like push notifications for odds updates and real-time alerts about ongoing games of interest. Finally, apps typically have user-friendly interfaces that are optimized for mobile devices, usually making navigation and bet placement fast and seamless.
As for its disadvantages, some may not like the fact that it is more difficult to view all the available betting options via the app given that mobile screens are much smaller than desktop screens. Plus, apps can drain your device's battery and consume more data, especially when using features like live streaming (where available).
Betting from a desktop site
There are also benefits to betting on a desktop which may be more appealing to some bettors. First, desktop sites have larger screens, allowing users to view several betting options, odds, and markets simultaneously without needing to scroll too much. Also, websites often provide a more comprehensive set of features, including detailed analytics, access to full betting histories, and more.
The one major downside of betting from a desktop is that there is less portability. We are all used to having our smartphones near us most of the time, and with a few taps we can place a bet on the app, as opposed to having to open a computer and log onto the website.
App vs. desktop summary
Whether you want to bet on an app or desktop site depends a lot on personal preference.
In general, many people prefer to live bet via the sportsbook app due to its simplicity and speed. Some prefer to access support via the desktop site, as it is usually more accessible and comfortable.
Of course, with Fanatics there is no choice to make as it doesn't offer a desktop site.
Types of sportsbook promotions and bonuses
While the welcome bonus is generally the most attractive promotion at any sportsbook, the best sportsbooks will offer users plenty of daily, seasonal, and special bonuses as well. Here are the bonuses you're likely to encounter:
Welcome bonuses
The welcome bonus is what sportsbooks use to attract new users. It's generally the most lucrative bonus offered and it usually involves bonus bets. The two most popular types of welcome bonuses are the "bet and get," employed by DraftKings and FanDuel, and the "first bet insurance," which can be maximized at BetMGM.
With a bet-and-get promo, users need to bet a relatively small amount, and then they'll receive bonus bets that they can use according to the terms and conditions of the sportsbook. Sometimes the sportsbook will require a winning first bet to earn the bonus bets, but other times the bonus bets are given regardless of the outcome of the initial bet.Â
First bet insurance works a bit differently and usually appeals more to larger bettors. With this type of promotion, the sportsbook will match your first wager in bonus bets, but only if it loses. When you register with BetMGM, you can place a first bet of $1,500. If it wins, you keep your winnings, but that's it. If it loses, You'll be given $1,500 in bonus bets that can be used according to BetMGM's terms and conditions.
Deposit matches
Deposit matches are rare these days to find with a sportsbook, but they are very simple in structure. If it's a 100% deposit match, and you deposit $100 into your sportsbook account, the sportsbook will match your deposit and give you an additional $100 in bonus bets. If it's a 50% deposit match, you'll get an additional $50, and so on.Â
Profit boosts and odds boosts
Profit boosts and odds boosts are two ways you can earn a bigger profit on your bet. Profit boosts are applied to your winnings. If you won a $100 wager with odds of +100, your profit on that bet would be $100, but if you had a 50% profit boost, your winnings would increase to $150.Â
Odds boosts work similarly, except the boost is placed on the odds beforehand. So if you had a 50% odds boost and you wanted to place a bet with +100 odds, those odds would become +150.
Same-game parlay insurance
Same-game parlay insurance gives you an out if you don't hit on all of the legs of your parlay. Every sportsbook does this slightly differently, but essentially, when you place a parlay of four legs or more, you'll get your stake back if it loses by a single leg.
In a similar vein, sportsbooks might offer first-touchdown or first-goalscorer insurance. If you bet on a specific player to score the first touchdown in an NFL game and he doesn't, but he does find the endzone later on, the sportsbook would give you back your stake in a promotion like this.
Referral bonus
Many sportsbooks have some sort of referral program. If a friend registers with a sportsbook on your referral and deposits money, you may earn bonus bets or whatever the brand is offering as a referral bonus.
Rewards and loyalty programs
The way loyalty programs usually work is that a percentage of each bet you make gets converted to loyalty points that you can cash in for bonus bets or other prizes. Some sportsbooks have loyalty tiers you can climb up with the more money you bet, until you're able to earn very valuable prizes. With BetMGM and Caesars, you can ultimately earn vacations and hotel stays at their properties. Most loyalty programs require you to spend an incredible amount of money, however, before reaching the elite tier of rewards.Â
Frequently Asked Questions
Are sports betting apps safe?
Legal, regulated sports betting apps in the United States are required to follow certain consumer protection laws and regulations. Regulated sportsbooks must verify customers' identity and age. Requiring customers to submit to a rigorous ID verification makes it harder for bad actors to infiltrate the system. "Know Your Customer" laws are core to consumer protection.
Customers can also enable enhanced security measures at every sportsbook, like two-factor authentication, to keep their accounts safe.Â
Do all sportsbooks have a mobile app?
Yes, all of the top sportsbooks in the United States offer a mobile app. Fanatics Sportsbook only has a smartphone app and is not available via desktop. Other sportsbooks have both a mobile app and a desktop site.
Can I access any sportsbook app from anywhere in the United States?
Users can browse sportsbook apps from other states, even if they are physically located in a state where sports betting is not legal. However, users are not able to place bets until their phone or computer's location identifies them to be located in a state where sports betting is legal. Geolocation software is used to accomplish this and is built into sportsbook apps.Â
Do all betting apps provide welcome offers?
Most sportsbooks do provide new users some kind of bonus for registering a new account with them. Two common types of welcome offers include "bet-and-get" promos and "first bet insurance" promos. Welcome offers change throughout the year across the industry. Each sportsbook may have a different welcome offer.
Are sportsbook promotions on apps identical to those offered on desktop and mobile websites?
You will find the exact same offers on a sportsbook's mobile app that you would find on their desktop or mobile website. Your account transfers over and remains the same, no matter how you view the sportsbook. Apps simply make it easier to follow your sports betting while on the go.Â
Which sports betting app has the best payouts?
Sports betting odds vary slightly across sportsbooks. There are minor differences on a game-by-game basis depending on which sportsbooks you decide to bet with. However, one of the easiest sports betting strategies is to shop for the best odds. Would you pay more for the same product at two different stores? The same concept applies to sports betting odds. Taking advantage of all sportsbook promotions can also make a major difference.Â
What types of betting markets are available when using a sportsbook app?
Using a sportsbook app gives you access to sports betting markets that are legally available in your state. Where available, users can bet on a multitude of sports, including the NFL, NBA, college football, college basketball, MLB, NHL, soccer, golf, tennis, MMA, and other sports and leagues across the world.Â
Within those sports, users can choose to bet on traditional markets such as spreads, money lines, and totals. In addition, users can bet on player props, team props, and game props. Users can choose to increase the risk and increase the potential payout by betting on a parlay or a same-game parlay.Â
Bettors must be 21 years or older to register and place wagers. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, please seek assistance from trained professionals such as the Problem Gambling Help Network at 1-800-GAMBLER.Â
