The Cards' recent stumbles continued last night out of the All-Star break in a 7-3 loss at Chase Field that drops the Redbirds to 4-9 across their last 13 games. Now St Louis has to hope Sonny Gray can reverse his personal trends this term that include an ERA nearly two runs higher on the road (4.57) than at home. As for the D-backs, we keep waiting for them to stir, but maybe last night's cruise will prove the trigger, and note that Arizona had won five straight starts made by Ryne Nelson until he wasn't involved in the decision in a 6-5 loss vs. the Angels on July 11.
