This might be the best matchup in Week 4, and I'm going with the team I think is better on both sides of the ball. The Jaguars have been excellent aside from one half at altitude in Denver, while the Bengals' early defensive success looks like it may come down to a schedule quirk with the Bucs struggling and the Texans without Nico Collins (but still moving the ball) before the Steelers lit up Cincy last week. My line for this game is Bengals -1, and while I was unable to catch the full 3 this week, I'm still going to lock in the Jaguars here.
While I don't love fading Burrow and the Bengals' passing attack on the road, I do like the Jags offensively here. I think Cincinnati will continue to struggle to get off the field defensively on third down, and Tuten should have just enough success on the ground. This should be a true pick'em in this spot. Give me the +2.5 at +100 or better. +104 available currently on Kalshi.
The Bengals are getting to QBs and dropoff throws to RBs are working against it. They’re allowing 47 receiving yards per game to backs, the most in the league. The Jaguars can go this route as well with Bhayshul Tuten, who is 5-for-5 on targets with games of 17 and 22 yards.
The Lions and Bengals have been gifts thus far to the entire tight end position to open the season. The Bengals have given up 299 yards to tight ends in three games. That's NOT a misprint. Crazy, right? Even though Brenton Strange has started the season the season slow, the usage is there. He's run 76% of the routes and has a 14% target share so far this season. In this matchup, look for him to be targeted more. I'll be laddering this to 50+ receiving yards for plus money.
Everything is set up nicely for Joe Burrow on Sunday. A high team total, a great matchup, and a high likelihood that this will be a back-and-forth scoring affair against the Jaguars. Similar to last week, when the Bengals scored 27 points and went over this prop, I think Burrow will be in a very similar game script Sunday. The Jaguars are a true pass-funnel defense, and the Bengals are a very high pass-rate offense. This all sets up for Burrow to go over his line, and I'll be laddering this to 300+ passing yards for plus money.
I was torn on this must-see matchup all week but have come around to the Bengals' passing attack being the difference. The Jaguars allow 8.4 yards per pass attempt, third-most in the NFL. And they've yet to face a quarterback of Joe Burrow's caliber. The Bengals are at home and coming off a loss, so I'm counting on a focused effort. Burrow is 17-3 ATS in his last 20 games when facing an offense averaging over 27 points, like Jacksonville's. In other words, he elevates his game in these spots. I would only play this at less than a field goal.
The Bengals have a tough test this week against a quality Jaguars defense, and one area where they may have an issue is running the ball. Jacksonville has given up the fourth fewest rushing yards to RB in the league at 59.1 per game, and no single RB has rushed for more than 40 yards against them this year. Brown has the best shot to do so since he's not a committee back, but even in his breakout 2025, he averaged 59.9 rush yards per game. This year he had 80 yards in a game the Bengals led comfortably but 56 and 61 yards in the closer matchups. With this being the latter, I think this number is probably 3-4 yards too high.
This low-key might be an early playoff preview with these teams playing well, but I don't think the Jaguars defense is getting enough credit. They haven't given up a TD in the first three quarters of any game and completely shut down the Patriots last week. While the Bengals rank a solid 12th in scoring, the only game where they topped 27 points required a fumble-return TD to do so. I think the total on the game is too high, but this feels like the better way to attack an Under with Jacksonville's defensive success.
Chase Brown gets the vast majority of carries in Cincinnati, but this should be a pass-heavy game script. Led by immovable nose tackle Davon Hamilton, Jacksonville is extremely tough to run against. The Jaguars smothered TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson last week (combined 15 carries, 45 yards) and are allowing 3.6 yards per carry this season. Look for the Bengals to attack Jacksonville through the air and use Brown heavily in the receiving game.
The prop market continues to be behind the eight ball on Bhayshul Tuten who is an explosive runner with rare traits and is firmly entrenched as the feature back for the Jags. We’re getting a discount here due to Jacksonville having blown out two opponents, otherwise Tuten would have gotten more usage and counting stats. This looks like a great spot to back him against an improved Bengals team, however this isn’t a defense to avoid. Look for Tuten to handle 15-17 carries in a game that projects to be competitive.
This number is criminally low for Bhayshul Tuten who continues to impress and is the clear lead back on a very good Jags team. Tuten breaks tackles at an exceptional rate and possesses elite traits. He simply looks like one of the best RBs in the league, meanwhile Chris Rodriguez is a JAG. Tuten should continue to be featured and I would make this number 14.5. I’ll also be double dipping and backing his rushing line as well.
FanDuel. Chase Brown is under this line in 2/3 games this season, and was under in 10/17 last year. He gets a brutal matchup against the Jaguars. Jacksonville is not only sound defensively against the run (5th in FTN’s DVOA, 4th last season), but they also do well to control the clock. The result is only 18.3 running back attempts per game (3.2 yards per carry yielded). Brown is not an efficient runner at 4.0 yards per carry with minimal explosive plays. He’d need significant volume to clear this line, and I don’t see that happening in what should be a pass-happy game for Joe Burrow.
Parker Washington gets a mouth watering matchup in a game with the highest projected total on Week 4’s slate featuring two elite passing offenses. Washington has been the clear focal point of Jacksonville’s passing attack and I expect that to once again be the case against a Bengals defense that continues to struggle defending the middle of the field. Washington is operating exclusively out of the slot and had would have much bigger numbers if two of Jacksonville’s games were not blowouts.
If you took the under on the opposing RB vs. the Jaguars, you are 3-0 this season. We have an will continue to do that with Chase Brown. The Jags are currently 8th against the run (91.3), but first if you go back to the beginning of last year (86.5 per game). The yards per attempt is actually lower at 3.6 than last year's 3.9 Brown has gone for 56, 80, and 61 this year, so he has missed 66.5 in two of the three game and rushed for 47 yards in this matcjup last year on 16 rushes.
