The Giants placed Golston (neck) on injured reserve Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
A trade for Harrison will not be completed "until after Sunday's games are played," but the Cardinals "feel comfortable enough" knowing it will occur that they will deactivate him for Sunday's game against the Lions, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The Cardinals are "finalizing a deal to trade Harrison" to an unspecified team, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Thomas (groin) does not have any injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Pinnock (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Taylor-Demerson (back) does not have an injury designation against the Lions on Sunday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Nolen (calf) is questionable against the Lions on Sunday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Golston (neck) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Wingard (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.
Love (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Lions, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The Giants have gone eight consecutive quarters without a TD. Defenses are stacking the box to invite backup QB Jameis Winston to throw. Even with that advantage, he has not fared well. Jaxson Dart isn't the only painful injury absentee; LB Brian Burns, perhaps the most invaluable Giants defender, also is shelved. Arizona's two solid games -- a win over the Chargers, a narrow loss to the 49ers -- happened away from home. They seem to travel well.
The Cardinals need to take advantage of whatever opportunities they get to pick up wins, and Sunday presents as one of those. The Giants are already in trouble with Jaxson Dart out, managing 18 combined points the last two weeks against middle-of-the-road defenses. Sure, Arizona has struggled with high-octane offenses, but New York is not one of those. Even with the travel, this is a favorable matchup considering the G-Men are without Brian Burns, which should give Jacoby Brissett all the time he needs in the pocket. The line movement was correct here, but I do not want this to hit a full field goal before jumping in.
The New York Giants big move this week was releasing Odell Beckham Jr, but they also traded for JJ McCarthy from the Minnesota Vikings. This move could be one that puts pressure on Jameis Winston who has generated no touchdowns in his two games of action. Six field goals have been the only points for the Giants over their last two games. Arizona had two difficult division games against San Francisco and Seattle, and now have a favorable road matchup even with heavy road travel. Tail the Cardinals.
The most important thing for Cam Skattebo right now is that his usage is trending up. Devin Singletary was a healthy scratch last week, so the backfield is essentially him and Najee Harris. Skattebo's receiving usage has also gone up each week, as he ran a route 65% of the time and was targeted 19% in Week 3. The Cardinals have given up the 12th most yards to running backs in the first three weeks. I like approaching the combo line to protect for either game script, and just count on him being heavily involved.
I feel the Cardinals deserve to be favored but rather than ask them to win by margin, I will just play on them to win the game. NYG should have lost to the Titans last week. The "Fallen Hero" theory was in play with Jaxson Dart being lost for the season and the team rallied around Jameis Winston, but that is now in the past and clearly NYG doesn't have confidence in Winston, trading for JJ McCarthy. This is not a very good team with very few offensive weapons and now Brian Burns is gone on defense too. AZ can score and the defense is improved from past seasons. Giants are lucky to be 2-1. Everyone is 2-2 after the dust settles in this one.
It appears the Cardinals are ready to give rookie Jeremiyah Love all the work he can handle. He had 26 touches in the Week 3 loss at San Francisco, totaling 109 yards from scrimmage. While I don't expect that kind of workload, Love gets an easier matchup against a Giants defense allowing 4.7 yards per carry. With Love looking like he has put his high-ankle sprain behind him, I bet on the No. 3 overall pick to be very productive at MetLife Stadium.
The Cardinals are 1-2 on the season, but they covered both games on the road. They put points on the board at the Chargers, and they put 30 points on the board at the 49ers. The offense under Jacoby Brissett looks solid. He doesn't hold the ball for a long time, doesn't take sacks, and he's No. 2 in the NFL in completions. He's hitting 70% of his passes. The Giants should have lost to the Titans last week. The offense has done nothing with Jameis Winston in his 20 drives since taking over. JJ McCarthy isn't ready to take over yet, so it's more Winston this week, and the reason for me betting the Cardinals to win.
Jameis SZN continues with Winston set to start this game despite the JJ McCarthy trade, and we've seen the market fade the Giants all week, moving the Cards to 2.5-point favorites. I think the way to attack this game is the Giants team total, with the team scoring zero TDs since Week 1. Winston does not look like a capable QB at this point, completing 51% of his pass attempts and averaging less than 5 yards per attempt. We don't know the quality of Arizona's defense after tough matchups against the Seahawks and 49ers, but they looked good in starting the Chargers' skid in Week 1. I'd play Giants at plus odds to stay under 20.5 as well.
Arizona is 1-2 after facing Justin Herbert, Sam Darnold and Brock Purdy. Now the Cardinals get to face Jameis Winston, who is completing 51 percent of his passes while averaging an NFL-low 4.7 yards per attempt. Jacoby Brissett is a much better option at this stage of their careers, and the Giants just lost their top pass rusher in Brian Burns. I agree with the strong line move toward the Cardinals.
