Josh Reynolds should see an uptick in potential usage tonight with the return of Justin Fields but how productive will he be even against this Dolphins secondary? He returns to action after missing the last two games but continues to deal with a lingering hamstring injury. It's always tricky to bet against players with such low totals but he could be the odd man out especially with the improved health of rookie TE Mason Taylor

Hall is over this line in 2/3 games this year, and caught a 33-yarder in Week 1 against the Steelers. Hall has 3+ targets in each game thus far, and I expect Justin Fields to look to him for some easy completions, as he returns from a concussion. This Dolphins defense gave up 3 Rec/27 yards to Colts RB Jonathan Taylor, and 5 Rec/88 Yards to Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson in Week 1 & 2. Hall can cash this with one good screen play.

Tua has struggled from an efficiency standpoint and after long being one of the most efficient signal callers in the league over the last 3 seasons. Tua has not been able to handle having his first read covered and/or when his opponents are able to generate a consistent pass rush. Fortunately for Tua he faces a Jets defense that does not pressure well, nor are they able to slow down first options. Couple that with the Jets having a stout run defense, I believe the Dolphins gameplan will be to attack the Jets through the air and I expect them to be successful. This matchup is tailor-made for Tua and company.

The Jets and Dolphins are each 0-3 to start the year, although the Jets lost by two points in two of the losses. The Jets also won the last meeting after the Dolphins won four in a row. The Dolphins played their best game of the year last week in a 10-point loss at Buffalo, but they covered 11-points. Backup Tyrod Taylor started at quarterback last week for the Jets, but Justin Fields should be back, and the Jets come in with the 28th-ranked offense with 271 yards per game, while the Dolphins have the 27th-ranked defense, allowing 370 yards per game. The Dolphins' secondary is banged up, and that's going to be a problem for their defense, which allows 32 points per game. Jets.

Justin Fields is coming off his first concussion, but indications are he will try to play his normal game -- which includes a lot of running. He rushed for 48 and 49 yards in his first two games this season, and that includes leaving the 30-10 loss to the Bills early. Miami's linebackers are slow and have struggled against mobile quarterbacks.

Justin Fields has been cleared from injury and will start tonight against a Dolphins team that has already surrendered 3 rushing touchdowns to opposing QBs. In his one career appearance against Miami in 2022, Fields had a career day, rushing for 178 yards and a TD. Fields had 2 TD’s in Week 1 against the Steelers, and I expect him to pick up where he left off.

These are the games the Dolphins used to have no trouble winning under Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa: At home vs. bad teams. If they lose here, then yeah maybe it is time for McDaniel to go. Darren Waller's season debut at tight end can only help Tua, who is 5-0 vs. the Jets. New York is 3-14 in its past 17 overall and has dropped nine straight visits to South Florida.

The Dolphins had extra rest following a very competitive effort in Buffalo. The Jets get Justin Fields back from a concussion, but they won't have linebacker Quincy Williams or edge defender Jermaine Johnson Jr. New York has given up 93 points in three games and ranks 31st in pressure rate. In this battle of winless teams with terrible defenses, I'll back the home team in a high-scoring affair.

FanDuel. De’Von Achane has cleared this receptions line in two of three games this season, and in 11 of 14 games dating back to last season, when Tua Tagovailoa starts. The matchup against the Jets should suit Achane in the receptions department. The Jets secondary, lead by Sauce Gardner, is a tougher matchup for the Dolphins receivers. However, the Jets are somewhat depleted at linebacker, including Quincy Williams being put on injured reserve. This should give Achane the edge, matchup-wise - and not that he needs it, as he’s leading the Dolphins in both targets (23) and catches (18).

The Dolphins might be surprising favorites to some with how they've played this season, but they managed to hang with the Bills last Thursday and had the game tied in the fourth quarter. That's miles better than the Jets, who were dead early the previous week in the same matchup and down 23-6 heading into the fourth quarter against the Bucs last week. Miami is getting healthier and has a great home field advantage, and with the Jets defense looking almost as bad as Miami's, I'll back the home team here.

It's been an awful start for both 0-3 teams, and a large portion of the blame lies on the defenses. Every opponent each has played has scored at least 29 points, and Miami's defense is last in EPA per play by a wide margin. Both offenses have had their moments, and the Jets may get Justin Fields back for this game. With key injuries on both defenses as well, it shouldn't be an issue for this one to get to 45 points.
