It feels the Chargers are being a bit undervalued here at home coming off the tough-to-believe loss to the Giants. Jayden Daniels returning should help the Commanders, but his mobility will be questionable coming off injury. Plus, Washington is missing Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown still. Los Angeles being down Joe Alt undoubtedly hurts, but it’s not like the visitors have been great up front this year. The Chargers defense should do enough to limit the Commanders and give Justin Herbert additional opportunities to work with Quentin Johnston and Keenan Allen. Herbert has been spreading the ball around well, and over 60 minutes, Los Angeles should do more than enough to cover the field goal margin.

FanDuel. Coming off two monster games of 129 and 165 scrimmage yards, I’m backing Omarion Hampton to clear this combined line. With Najee Harris lost for the season, the first-round pick has been on the field for 85% of the snaps since the injury. He’ll face off against the Commaders who were just gashed by the dual-threat Bijan Robinson for 181 yards. I’d bet this up to over 96.5 yards.
Jayden Daniels is back but could be a bit rusty and is missing No. 1 WR Terry McLaurin (and fellow WR Noah Brown). L.A. is elite defending the pass. The Commanders are 0-2 ATS away -- they have failed to cover five straight on the road dating to last season. Los Angeles does have some O-line injury issues but is 15-5-1 ATS under Jim Harbaugh, tied for the league's best mark since the start of 2024. It is 2-0 ATS at home this year.
Marcus Mariota is serviceable in relief, but if backing Washington we'd still prefer Jayden Daniels, back to active duty on Sunday. Alternating wins and losses, the Commanders will like their chances bit more on Sunday with their starting QB in tow, though he'll be without two of his favorite targets as Terry McLaurin (quad) and Noah Brown (groin/calf) are both likely out. Still, even shorthanded, the Washington offense soared for 34 ppg the past two weeks. The low-variance Chargers seem content to cut it close every week and run the risk of getting burned as last Sunday at Met Life by the Giants. Points always tempt in a Chargers game as many of them land on 3 (like the last two)...or sometimes fewer. Play Commanders

We should have doubled down on the McCaffrey touchdown train with a little Thursday-Sunday parlay action, but alas, we'll have to settle for just taking Luke here at a pretty good value price in a spot where Jayden Daniels is missing virtually all of his weapons. If you want to wait until Sunday, this price could drift up a little bit with natural market moves and Deebo Samuel being cleared, but I still think McCaffrey is a really good look in this spot.
The injury gods have taken sides in this matchup. QB Jayden Daniels appears good to go for the Commanders after sitting for two games. The Chargers' Joe Alt (ankle) will be shelved indefinitely, joining Rashawn Slater (out for the season) in what was once projected as a peerless set of OTs. Prior to last week's toe-stubbing to the Giants, L.A. looked like a Super Bowl contender. It might still be but must devise a solution for the tattered O-line, at least until Alt returns.
Jayden Daniels is expected to return for Washington after missing the Week 4 loss in Atlanta. On the other side, Justin Herbert is playing behind an offensive line that's in shambles. LA is missing three O-line starters, including both standout tackles, and just allowed Herbert to be pressured by the Giants on 27 of 41 dropbacks. This will be a tight game but I like the Commanders -- who held Atlanta to 3.5 yards per carry -- getting the full field goal.
This is Washington's third road game in four weeks, involving cross-country travel to Los Angeles, which adds to their fatigue. Following a close Week 4 loss in New York, Justin Herbert and the Chargers are eager for redemption at SoFi Stadium, where they were 10–2 ATS last season when favored by seven points or fewer. Despite the Chargers being down two tackles on the offensive line, it's uncertain if the Commanders can exploit this. Washington ranks 18th in generating pressure on quarterbacks. The Chargers will control time of possession with a balanced attack, keeping Washington's offense off the field. L.A. aims to extend its home series record against Washington to 6-0. Also, Jim Harbaugh is 16-8 following a loss in his NFL coaching career.
