The Wolverine State made a couple of headlines recently, one for record-breaking iGaming revenue and another for bet365 launching there. In other news, Playtech is expanding to Fanatics Casino, while an illegal Northern Indiana online gambling ring has been busted.

Michigan has record month in March 2026

Back in December 2025, Michigan set an iGaming revenue record with $315.8 million. According to the state's latest revenue report, it has already broken that after earning $322.1 million in March 2026.

Not only is this a record for Michigan online casinos, but it also represents 23.65% year-over-year growth from March 2025 ($260.5 million). The $322.1 in iGaming revenue makes up two-thirds of the $483.4 million overall reported gaming revenue, including commercial casinos, retail sportsbooks, and online betting.

bet365 goes live in Michigan

With the Michigan iGaming market hotter than ever, bet365 Casino has chosen the perfect time to launch there. Also available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, it now serves the country's three largest legal, regulated online gaming markets.

Launched in 2000 as an online-exclusive UK brand, bet365 is one of the most respected international brands. It should be a worthy addition to Michigan, especially since it's known for offering some of the best online casino bonus codes and largest progressive jackpots.

Playtech has found another US iGaming partner in Fanatics Casino. The longtime software provider is now offering its casino games at Fanatics in West Virginia and Michigan. It will roll out on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey platforms soon.

Kieron Show, senior content manager at Fanatics, said that this deal has been in the works for "more than two years." He added that Playtech's "commitment to innovation will play a significant role" in Fanatics' growth in the US market.

Illegal northern Indiana online gambling ring busted

A joint operation between the FBI, Indiana Gaming Commission, and IRS has taken down a large illegal online gambling ring in the Hoosier State. Dubbed "Operation Porterhouse Parlay," the bust involved more than 150 law enforcement officers and resulted in the arrest of 22 defendants.

According to US Attorney Adam Mildred, the gambling operation was a coordinated effort involving bookies, enforcers, and financial intermediaries located online and in brick-and-mortar businesses. Ring leaders Jimmy "The Greek" Gerodermos and Dean "Gem" Gialamas operated offshore gambling sites called GardencityBets.com and ABCWagering.ag.

Bettors signed up through local bookies and received lines of credit at the online sportsbooks. Those who couldn't pay their lines in a timely manner received threats, such as roses delivered to one gambler's Valparaiso house. The defendants are facing multiple charges, including extortionate debt collection, operating illegal gambling businesses, Hobbs Act extortion, and money laundering.
