Resorts World NYC begins next phase of casino expansion with 1,400 new slots
Resorts World New York City is planning a $5 billion expansion in Queens that would add hotel rooms, gaming space, a 7,000-seat arena, dining, parking, and greenspace.
As one of the newest fully fledged land-based casinos in New York, Resorts World New York City is ready to take a big step forward with a planned $5 billion expansion of its Queens facility. As a result, and as aspired by the casino's higher-ups, Resorts World NYC will become one of the largest integrated gaming resorts in the United States.
Resorts World NYC breaks ground on landmark casino expansion
Already a longstanding racino in the Empire State, which does not offer legal casino games online, Resorts World NYC now has much larger plans in mind. That is especially true after state regulators selected the facility toward the end of 2025 to receive a license to operate as a full-on casino in downstate New York.
Part of that began with the installation of 1,400 slot machines on the first floor, increasing the facility's total to 3,900. According to Robert DeSalvio, president of parent company Genting Americas East, slots at Resorts World NYC have generated more than $230 million in the first 11 weeks after the casino opened as a full-fledged operation.
