Markkanen (wrist) is available for Saturday's game against Portland.
Henderson will move into the starting lineup for Saturday's game in Utah, Trail Blazers' reporter Sean Highkin reports.
Jazz PG Keyonte George is on a run, scoring at least 24 points in three straight games, including 31 on Wednesday in Utah’s first game without scoring big man Jaren Jackson Jr. Jaren is out here (for 6-8 weeks) and now Lauri Markkanen is questionable. Someone has to put the ball in the bucket and against the Blazers, who so far are allowing a hilarious 36.5 ppg to point guards, George can resume his scoring trend.
FanDuel. Not only has Toumani Camara has cleared this line in each Portland’s four games this season, but he now gets a plus matchup against the Jazz. Utah traditionally forces the action out of the primary ball-handler’s hands to spot up/catch and shoot opportunities. Ja Morant is out for Portland, which should translate into more front-court touches for Camara.
Jaxson Hayes is currently operating at as the starting Center for an Utah Jazz team with some frontcourt depth issues after losing both Jaren Jackson and Jusuf Nurkic to injuries. Despite the increased role, Hayes is unlikely to see any additional shots as it’s more likely to trickle down to more viable shot creators. Hayes gets almost all of his scoring via put backs, tip ins, and hustle plays. This is a lofty combo line for the veteran big.
Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is out, and Lauri Markkanen (wrist) is questionable for the Jazz. With them sidelined Wednesday against the Spurs, Keyone George set season-highs in points (31) and shot attempts (27). That was his third straight game with at least 24 points. Even if Markkanen returns, the absence of Jackson should continue to leave George with an elevated usage rate. He continues to improve his efficiency by shooting 49.4% from the field and 41.2% from three this season, so take this over.
