This is purely a "spot" play against Orlando: As in what appears to be a bad spot at the end of a five-city trip and ahead of a long homestand leading into the All-Star break. Human nature to perhaps be a bit flat here. Miami does lead the season series 2-1. At home, the Heat have won eight straight in the series. Granted, most of those Magic teams were less than magical. Tyler Herro is back tonight for the Heat after hosing those of us who backed Miami on Sunday against the Clippers when he was ruled out about 45 minutes pre-tip. Duncan Robinson is also back after missing the past three. Orlando is four games under .500 away.
One of the few teams that makes fewer 3s than Miami is Orlando. Miami's offense has been in the mud for some time, and Orlando brings one of the best defenses in the league.
Throughout the Miami Heat’s inconsistencies this season they have been solid against the Orlando Magic. 2-1 on the year and have limited the Magic to an average of 102 points. Healthier look for the Heat to bounce back from a close loss to the Clippers on Sunday.

Wagner comes off a 38-point game but throw that out largely because it was against the Pistons. In his past seven against Miami and most specifically Bam Adebayo, one of the NBA's best post defenders, Wagner has not topped 20 points once. He's averaging 17.0 ppg in two this season.
There is a distinct possibility that Orlando is simply a better team these days than Miami; certainly, anyone who watched the Magic pound the Heat by 18 at the Kia Center on January 21 would come away with that impression. Orlando also enters tonight having won four of five and covered each of those games, but the pace has also been slower, speaking to the discipline that Jamahl Mosley has instilled in his troops. Meanwhile, the Heat, while struggling, are also on a 16-4 "under" run, and these teams only reached 192 in their recent meeting a few weeks ago. Play Magic-Heat "Under"

Jimmy Butler is officially an elder statesman in the NBA but as he proved last season he uses the regular season to prepare the postseason. That being said, Jimmy is still the Heats leading scorer and while the Heat have been struggling recently, he has been playing well. The Heat are 2-8 over their last 10, however they remain 2 games over .500 and I think a lot of their struggles can be attributed both injuries and their core group not getting a lot of court time. Whatever is plaguing Miami, they need a win badly and I expect Jimmy to play upwards of 36-38 minutes and be aggressive offensively.
