The latest Pennsylvania gaming revenue report shows online slots as being the biggest year-over-year (YoY) gainer. Mobile slots generated $202,477,0134 in May 2026, a 14.28% YoY increase compared to the $177,181,084 earned in May 2025.

Pennsylvania sets gaming revenue record in May 2026

While some gambling sectors were up and others were down, the Pennsylvania gaming market enjoyed an outstanding month overall. It set a record with $625,467,775 in total gambling revenue last month. This amount breaks a record set in January 2025, when the state earned $623,092,053 from gambling.

The huge month for Pennsylvania gaming also led to increased tax revenue, with the Keystone State receiving $269,949,950 in May 2026. The bulk of this money goes towards reducing PA property taxes, law enforcement grants, and responsible gambling programs.

According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's May 2026 gaming revenue report, retail slot machines led the market with $232,063,095. This marks a 3.2% increase from May 2025, when land-based slot machines generated $224,873,947.

Online slots were the next biggest overall revenue driver. Again, PA online casinos brought in almost $202.5 million from mobile slot machines.

Retail casino table games rounded out the top three gambling verticals with $81,244,322. This represents a 1.66% increase from the $79,915,903 made in May 2025.

Online table games experience a 5.8% decrease

While real money online slots brought in lots of revenue for Pennsylvania online casinos, table games didn't fare as well in May 2026. PA operators earned $49,964,055 through online tables, which was 5.78% less than the $52,921,848 generated the previous May.

It's unclear why local gamblers are spending less time with games like online baccarat, blackjack, roulette, and craps. But the numbers clearly show players increasingly gravitating towards mobile slots and away from the tables.

It should be noted that table games weren't the worst iGaming performer in May 2026. Online poker games, like Texas hold 'em and Omaha, made $2,483,973—a 9.7% YoY drop from $2,750,831.

Sports betting revenue takes a big dip

Pennsylvania sportsbooks made $52,642,686 last month, far off the $59,417,240 earned in May 2025. This represents an 11.4% YoY decline, the biggest out of any PA gambling vertical for the month.

The Keystone State wasn't alone in its sports betting struggles. Many other states, like New York and New Jersey, saw decreases in May 2026. The US betting industry as a whole has recently experienced lower hold and more competition from prediction markets.
