Michigan online casino revenue: $305.8M in May, 21.6% increase
Michigan iGaming shows no signs of cooling off after generating $305.8 million in May 2026. This ranks as the third-strongest month in the state's online gaming history.

It wasn't long ago that Michigan iGaming broke a record with $322.1 million in March revenue. MI online casinos didn't quite top that mark this time around, but they did have another strong month, earning $305.8 million in May 2026. This marks a 21.6% year-over-year (YoY) increase from the previous May.
Michigan iGaming is on fire lately
While Michigan online casinos didn't set any records in May 2026, they did start an interesting trend. May marked the third consecutive month that the state has topped $300 million in iGaming revenue—something that's never happened before.
The 21.6% YoY increase is another encouraging trend. This figure was slightly lower than the 22.3% uptick in April 2026, when the state made $303.4 million through casino games online.
Speaking of which, the $305.8 million earned in May 2026 was a 3.1% increase from April. This puts the iGaming market back on an uptrend after a 5.81% decrease from March ($322.1m) to April ($303.4m).
Second-best month ever when combining sports betting
When including online sports betting, Michigan had its second-highest online gambling revenue total ever with $382.5 million. December 2025 is the only higher month with $399.9 million overall.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board's May 2026 revenue report shows that sportsbooks made $76.7 million last month. That's a whopping 81.3% higher than the $42.3 million earned in May 2025. It's also up noticeably from March ($50m) and April ($67.6m) of 2026.
$63.2 million in May taxes to Michigan
The large number of people playing real money online slots, blackjack, roulette, live games, and betting on sports is paying dividends for the state. Michigan generated $64.2 million in May 2026 tax revenue from online gambling.
Most of this amount came from iGaming, with games like online baccarat, video poker, craps, keno, and more contributing $61.5 million.
Despite sports gambling's 81.3% YoY increase, it didn't deliver much tax revenue to the Wolverine State. Betting only put $2.5 million in state coffers last month.
A look ahead for the Michigan iGaming market
Online gambling doesn't show any signs of slowing down, especially coming off three consecutive months with $300+ million in iGaming revenue. Online casino games and sports betting have experienced double-digit increases during each month during this span.
That said, don't be surprised to see another big month in June 2026 for both verticals. As revenue numbers show, players continue flocking to gaming sites and using online casino bonus codes.
