Alberta iGaming Countdown: Operator & Regulatory Update
The countdown to Alberta's commercial online casino launch is on, with dozens of operators registered, regulators holding firm on the July 13 launch date, and compliance deadlines quickly approaching.

Only one day remains until Alberta allows commercial online casinos into its market. Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) has released a list of registered operators that want to go live on the market's July 13, 2026, launch date. There are a few other recent updates to catch up on, too. That said, let's recap what's currently happening with the province's iGaming market.
31 registered Alberta online casinos
The AGLC recently released a list of online casinos and software providers that have registered for an Alberta licence.Â

Launch date is still on track
The AGLC and Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) set the July 13, 2026, commercial online gaming launch date months ago. Everything appears to be on schedule because they haven't wavered from this date.
The regulatory framework for the market is already in place, registrations are open, and potential operators are in the final stages of compliance and licensing.
Operators told to exit grey markets
The AGLC has required operators wanting to participate in Alberta's iGaming market to stop serving unregulated markets. They have until July 13, 2026, to comply, or they risk being shut out of Alberta for the foreseeable future.Â
Certain operators may be given an extension until October 13 to come into compliance. Some or all of these exceptions likely won't be able to launch until they're fully compliant.
