The Titans have been put in a tough position The last two weeks facing two of the league’s best teams while dealing with injury issues. But they are also a tough unit that is 6-0 ATS against teams with losing records this season, and they are facing a Jaguars squad that is 1-5 ATS on the road. The injury issues are legitimate for Tennessee; no getting around that. Lesser teams and coaches would implode in this spot, but this is a perfect opportunity for Mike Vrabel to rally his squad against a vulnerable opponent. Look for Derrick Henry to get right after a couple rough weeks and the Titans to come through with their season on the line.
Less than two hours ago, RJ got Jaguars +3.5 and now it's down to 3 -- at Caesars anyways. If you follow me, you know I rarely back favorites ATS but on the moneyline. But I'm a tad on the fence here with all the Titans injuries so I'll just give the 3 and if I push, I push. And if I lose, it's obviously not as big of a hit as around -180 on the moneyline (although I bet to risk so that's why I do ML so often).
Both teams are coming off embarrassing losses, but only one was facing a Super Bowl contender. But the Jaguars may actually have a nice matchup upgrade here as well with Tennessee dealing with a litany of injuries on the defensive side of the ball. That should allow Trevor Lawrence to have a nice bounceback performance. Derrick Henry typically dominates the Jaguars, but he's in the midst of a four-game stretch where he's averaged just 2.77 yards on 70 carries and scored one TD, speaking to the state of the Titans' offensive line. With Treylon Burks also out for Tennessee, the Jaguars should be a live 'dog to win outright.
Seems like a mighty low total in a game with two defenses ranked in the 20s -- the Titans 22nd, the Jaguars 26th. Jax QB Trevor Lawrence appears ready to go after injury concerns, and he has been living up to the lofty expectations for a No. 1 overall draft pick. Tennessee RB Derrick Henry has performed lately like a mere mortal, and the Titans surely hope to get him cranked up. Clear skies and temperatures around 50 are conducive for enough scoring to eclipse this modest number.
This looks like a get-right spot for the Titans, who have lost two straight. But the way they dropped those games to Cincy and Philadelphia was no fluke. They were manhandled, and injuries are mounting at a scary pace. Pass rusher Denico Autry (knee) didn't practice at all last week before sitting out, linebacker David Long injured his hamstring during the loss to the Eagles and No. 1 wideout Treylon Burks also is in doubt after sustaining a scary hit to his head vs. Philly. Top defender Jeffery Simmons hasn't been his usual dominant self due to a painful ankle injury. Trevor Lawrence appears to be fine -- he finished the loss to Detroit after leaving with a leg injury -- and should have a field day against one of the NFL's worst pass defenses. Grab the points.
The Tennessee Titans have just fired general manager Jon Robinson, what could be a strange look for a team headed to winning the AFC South and hosting a playoff game...but this has been brewing. Mike Vrabel was very much not on board with the AJ Brown trade, coupled with an anemic offense Robinson put together (while his defense plays well above their heads). Long story short, Mike Vrabel's power in the Titans front office just went way up and owner Amy Adams-Strunk is with it. There's nothing Vrabel does better than getting people's attention and this is the largest by far seen during his tenure in Tennessee. Bet on Mike Vrabel, especially at home.
