I’ve played Giddey assists a few times and I’ve watched his minutes and usage increase. Yet the number has not adjusted upwards. The assists project at 4.25 and the rebounds at 6.25 so nice value here
Oklahoma City has shown an incredible ability to bounce back off a loss. Excluding games in back to back spots, they have not lost consecutive games since early January. Tonight’s also a meaningful game to keep the Thunder ahead of the Timberwolves for the second seed in the West. Take the Thunder against a Pelicans team that has fewer wins at home then on the road.
There are few spots I like to play Lu Dort. But anytime I can get him under 10 points I think it's worth the juice. Dort has eclipsed this number in 7 of his last 8 games, last game being the exception. I like the idea that that's giving us a buy low opportunity. As I mentioned, this feels like a vulnerable spot for the Pelicans as a whole who are just getting back from a long road trip. Look for OKC to perform well in a bounce back spot.
This is a great spot for OKC as a whole. The Pelicans are coming off a long road trip, while OKC is looking for revenge after an embarrassing loss to Milwaukee. Josh Giddey specifically has been on an absolute tear the past month, he is 9-1 to this over and that's without any increased minutes. We are getting a lower line here that is more based on his season road splits, but even then this is hitting greater than 50% of the time. The Sportsline Model projects 16 points and assists for Giddey.
The Pels big man had to be licking his lips watching film of Giannis and Middleton grab rebounds at will against Holmgren and Co from Sun. New Orleans will be able to control things in that same regard in what is a huge home game for them. I've been screwed often with Valanciunas hitting the bench for long stretches despite dominating, but I cant see him sitting here when rested bs the West's top seed at home. He averages 9.5/G at home and averages 9 in two games vs OKC. OKC 24th in opponents rebounds since ASG. Other Western Conference contenders will want to test the Thunders young center and bring out the muscle ahead of the playoffs. Especially when sending a message at home.
