Understanding Public and Money
Expert Picks
The Clippers have only played four games without Kawhi Leonard this season. They are 2-2, but the two good teams they played blew them out. I don't think they get blown out here; in fact, I would play the money line on the Warriors, who stay hot and get a tight win.
I loved this better at 7.5 but I’ll still play it at 8.5. Let’s go over in a game without KLeonard.
Without KLeonard I expect and see Harden taking more shots and getting more opportunities. He should also thrive from the line as he tends to drive more without Leonard on the floor. Over.
Ivica Zubac has been quiet when it comes to points production. In four of his last five games he has scored six points or less. That is not the norm as he is averaging 12 points per game this season. He has been very efficient against the Warriors this season with no less than five field goals made in two matchups. Play his over.
Really feels like a game the Clippers would rather not be playing ahead of the All-Star break and with Kawhi Leonard sitting. LA is 2-2 without him this season. Meanwhile, the Warriors frankly need it more and have tied their longest winning streak of the season (5 games). Four of those five wins came on the road and three of them were by 20-plus points. Klay Thompson is starting to shoot well and Jonathan Kuminga has become a beast. To think the Bulls likely could have had him for Alex Caruso not long ago (insert Charlie Brown sigh here).
It looks like we might have caught the oddsmakers asleep at the wheel. Paul George is averaging a combined 8.9 RA, so we're getting a solid discount. It also appears that PG13 is playing without any restrictions as the Clippers have been careful with his minutes recently. What I really like is Kawhi will miss this game and I expect George's usage to increase without Leonard in the lineup. Amir Coffey is likely to start in Leonards absence and Coffey is a low usage player. I also like that the Clippers are facing a surging Warriors team who rank 7th in pace. This checks all the boxes for me as George should flirt with 35+ minutes in what projects to be a competitive game.
