Sandwiched between subpar Friday-Saturday scoring efforts, the Rays have tallied between 5-10 runs in the four games prior and two games since. Their .838 OPS vs. right-handers the last two weeks is elite, and here they get to face Max Scherzer, who has been especially lit up in Toronto (8.33 ERA in seven starts). Seven of the last eight games Scherzer has started, the opponent has scored at least five runs.
This looks like a good spot to fade Max Scherzer against one of the best offenses in the league. Scherzer has been showing his age and routinely finishing under this line. I’m willing to pay the hefty juice here as this line should be 14.5.
