I expect to mostly stick to props on the MLB side, but I have to jump on this money line number as a Pirates fade. This is a team that's finished over .500 once in the last eight seasons and was projected for a similar result this year just a week ago. That was before stringing together five straight road wins to start the year, which has inflated their odds in this road matchup to a point that is shocking for this franchise. Mitch Keller didn't pitch well in the opener, so I see real value playing against the Pirates at this number.

With the New York Yankees losing yesterday there are just three teams remaining in MLB undefeated. Pittsburgh at 5-0, will get to see Trevor Williams make his first start of the season for the Washington National’s. Although Mitch Keller has struggled with runs allowed, look for the Pirates potent bats to continue to carry Pittsburgh to victory.

Mitch Keller became the Ace of the Pittsburgh Pirates last season when he started the first half of the season and was one of the best in baseball. He came out in spring for solid outings and gave up six runs in 12 innings. He gave up four runs and 5.2 innings on opening day but the Pirates scored a ton and that's something you have to take into account the Pirates are raking right now and that's the reason for this bet. Pirates to win.

Good for the Pirates on their 5-0 start; figured they would be better, but they still don't have enough pitching. Mitch Keller starts this one and he was quite bad in his season debut in allowing five runs and seven hits over 5.2 innings in Miami, but his teammates bailed him out. The Marlins are true swill offensively (again), so that makes me think Washington might have a decent day at the plate. Keller really struggled on the road in 2023 as well. The Pirates should not be this heavily favored away yet, in my opinion, to where I get +1.5 this cheap.
