The wOBA model likes the road value with Luis Castillo and the Reds. My model is projecting Nick Pivetta to struggle against this Reds lineup. The Reds should be -115 favorites, not the Phillies.

The wOBA model isn't very optimistic about Tyler Beede in his MLB debut. Sure, he gets a great pitching environment at AT&T, but he was so bad at AAA and hasn't made enough changes to think he will succeed at this level. The Diamondbacks should give him a nice welcome to the league. Lay it with the road favorites.

Home favorite run line plays aren't typically a profitable betting strategy, but my wOBA model likes the value on Boston -1.5 (+170) with Chris Sale on the mound. Let's be honest, this game offers the largest range of possible outcomes on the slate tonight with these pitchers, offenses and park conditions. Chris Sale dominating and the Red Sox winning by 2+ runs is certainly a realistic outcome in this game. Embrace the variance and play -1.5 at +170.

My wOBA model suggests the Reds should be +100 instead of +123 tonight in Philadelphia. Expected wOBA numbers indicate that Joey Votto is going to get things going soon as he's simply been a little unlucky based on similarly batted balls across MLB. Take the value with the Reds.

Both starting pitchers have question marks, but I'm most concerned with Mike Foltynewicz vs. left-handed hitting. Foltynewicz has a career wOBA allowed of .372 to left-handed hitters making him one of the worst starters in MLB against lefties in terms of wOBA. The Phillies have several quality lefty bats that should make this a long day for Foltynewicz. Take the Phillies.
