The Packers produced at least 30 points in six consecutive games until last weekend, when it registered “only” 25 against Minnesota’s formidable defense. Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur vows to deploy his regulars, perhaps in part to extend his straight-up record against Chicago to 11-0. The Bears’ languid offense must contribute to the Over, which is dicey given that the team is 6-1 on the Under away from home. If Green Bay has another 30-point outing, Chicago essentially needs only reach 11 to deliver an Over. It will be very cold, but both teams are acclimated to such weather and should not be unduly impacted.
DJ Moore signed a four-year extension with the Bears right before this season; he's not going anywhere. He's received seven-plus targets in seven straight games and is facing a Packers' defense missing Jaire Alexander. Look for Moore to go Over his yardage prop against a Green Bay team with questionable motivation.
This could be Keenan Allen's last game with the Bears. And with Chicago building around Caleb Williams and younger receivers, it would make sense for them to get more looks than Allen in this meaningless game. Despite Allen's sizable target share, he has only recorded 6-plus receptions three times in 14 games.
Not much really at stake and I don't buy the Bears even in a garbage situation. The first game between these two was an ugly under game and GB will have to get some starters off the field and there are strong under trends. Bears are 6-1 under on road, games averaging 39.5 points. Pack is 5-2-1 under at home. Bears coach is totally over his head and offense suffering for it; score 17 or less in 7 of last 10 games (all losses). Packers back-ups will still have pride and Bears cannot get Caleb Williams hurt in meaningless exhibition. Bears are 6-2 under in last 8 division road games. Jamaica on three, fire up the busses, get to vacation.
Opposing kickers have made two or more successful field goals in eight of the Bears' last ten games, so I like Brandon McManus' chances this weekend. Though McManus has only made 17 field goals in ten games with Green Bay, he should have plenty of chances for success as the Packers look to continue their domination over their bitter rivals. And we're getting plus-money on this prop!
