Getting the touchdown plus the extra point, I'll hop on the Rams keeping it within the number. Don't like the idea of Jared Goff facing this kind of pressure, but this is a must-win for the Rams, and Sean McVay should have an offensive game plan that keeps this close or sees Los Angeles pull off a late backdoor cover if need be. George Kittle being completely healthy is scary, but I would not be surprised to see Jalen Ramsey on him throughout the game.
The 49ers have been playing a lot of close games lately. If you throw out the last second fumble TD against the Cardinals and count that as a close game (Arizona was winning with a minute left), six of the 49ers' last seven games have come down to the wire. In a divisional game against a Rams team that has played better in the second half despite getting smoked by the Cowboys last week, this feels like another close one that could go either way. With Dee Ford out, the vaunted 49ers pass rush loses a little bit of bite and helps this stay within the number.
The 49ers have lost two of their last three games, the last coming at home against the Falcons. All three of their losses have been in the final seconds. The Rams are a tough team to figure out. Just when it looks like they have things together, they lay an egg at Dallas last week. The 49ers won 20-7 in the October meeting, but are now 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. NFC West teams. Take the points.
I have a hard time getting a gauge on the Los Angeles Rams. What has been consistent for them all season has been QB Jared Goff's inability to deal with pressure. When their run game isn't firing on all cylinders, they struggle offensively. San Francisco presents a bad point-of-attack matchup for L.A. I expect the 49ers to roll in this game.
The 49ers lost in a ridiculously comical fashion against Atlanta on Sunday, while the Rams were blown out on the road by the Cowboys. I can't help but think that blowout has had a bigger effect on this spread than it should have. As did San Francisco's 20-7 win over the Rams earlier this season. Still, I would have the 49ers as a 4.5 to 5 point favorite here, so if I can get it at 6.5, it's hard to say no.
