Thus far the Titans' defense has quietly been one of the best in football. With both teams dealing with quarterbacks that aren’t 100 percent, one would expect another methodical game. Yet look for each team to do enough offensively to get this Over the total.
Wentz and the Eagles were average at best at home against the Colts. A Colts team that can't throw the the ball very well. Mariota might not be 100%, but he's at worst equal to the shape Andrew Luck's passing attack was. My simulations make the Eagles -3 favorites at a neutral site and a pick'em on the road in Nashville. I'm back the Titans at +3.5 in what should be a big breakout game for Corey Davis.
The Eagles have looked flat all three weeks so far and Carson Wentz looked rusty in his first start last week. Now they're favored more than a field goal on the road with a Tennessee squad that is playing inspired ball for first-year coach Mike Vrabel? Let's call the game a pick 'em, but this line looks as if Marcus Mariota is out and he's not. Lots of value with the Titans +3.5.
I'm not that comfortable playing the Titans with Marcus Mariota less than 100 percent, but this is too good value on the home team to pass up. The Eagles are 2-1 but haven't really put anyone away this year, and they haven't shown anything to make you think they should be touchdown favorites on a neutral field against another well-coached 2-1 team. The Titans defense continues to play well in this matchup, keeping this to a field-goal game at home.
The Titans have major issues at quarterback and basically had zero offense in Week 3 despite beating the Jaguars. The Eagles bring another top-notch defense to town, but the Philly offense wasn't quite clicking against the Colts despite the return of Carson Wentz, due in large part to injuries. The Titans have been a tough team defensively, surrendering four offensive TDs in three games while only scoring three TDs of their own. That's a good formula for an Under play here.
