LA is playing pretty much no one tonight and the Suns were already looking for revenge after a God awful first half Tues. But PHX rallied to make a 36 point game a 6 point game. LAC has had their number all year, but the lineup strongly favors the Suns. This might end up looking like a G League game with benches emptied if/when Suns build a big lead. But I'll bank on their starters getting off to a much better start than the night before.
Jusuf Nurkic was given the night off yesterday but will be active in this matchup. Nurkic has had a great season and made a big impact on both ends of the court, but most importantly hes remained healthy which is something thats alluded him for years, as the big man has been plagued with numerous injuries. The Clippers are missing their big three (Kawhi, PG, and Harden) and I don't envision Suns HC wanting to give big minutes to Nurkic in a game Phoenix should win with minimal resistance. The Clippers have a strong interior defense and also play at a slow pace. I ultimately think Nurk plays 20-22 minutes and this is a big number when PHX is at full strength.
We usually talk a lot more about the NBA zig-zag once we get into the playoffs but here might be a preview tonight of coming attractions. The Suns played perhaps their worst half of the season last night at home against the Clips, and look for quick revenge, with extra motivation as they need to win to help climb from the West play-in round they have dropped into after consecutive defeats. The Clips don't have that sort of urgency, and will be minus James Harden and probably Kawhi at Crypto.com. Phoenix did rally back to within seven points before their rally fizzled last night, and don't expect the Suns to dig themselves the same sort of hole as they did on Tuesday. Play Suns
