The Mavs are hot. Red hot. Equator hot. But why? Thanks to Alex S. I took a look and crunched their D numbers and noticed that it’s the improved DEFENSE that has spurned the win streak. Specifically, Daniel Gafford who has LOCKED DOWN opposing centers. We will play against every Center who plays v Dallas if DG is in the lineup. Tonight we fade Bam. Take these until further notice and thank Alex S.

This actually has little to do with Bam and a lot more to do with Daniel Gafford and the Mavs defense. This Mavs defense has played really well post All-Star break and a lot of that has to do with the presence of Daniel Gafford, who is easily playing the best basketball of his career (on both ends of the court). You have to go all the way back to March 5th against the Pacers when Dallas allowed the opposing Center to score over 16 points. That list includes Jokic, Wemby, Chet, and Bam. Speaking of Bam, the big man is struggling offensively and it doesnt help that Miami is the healthiest they have been all season long with plenty of mouths to feed.

Guards pick up assists in Miami. Other guards averaging around 4.5-5 assists like Kyrie Irving, are averaging 6 in Miami (6-2 to the over). He has had a strong last month during Ramadan and we are getting him on his last day. At basically even money, I have to take a chance on a line that is below his season average.
The Dallas Mavericks have won nine of their last ten games, and do not appear to be resting any key players in a back to back spot. Although Miami is playing better basketball lately, it’s going to be a tall order to keep up with the Mavericks. Dallas over their last two games alone have scored 130 and 147 points. Tail the Mavs.
This is a tricky night with almost every team in the league playing Tues night and varying degrees of things at stake. DAL might rest some people here depending how much they want the 4 seed ... But man 15-2 ATS last 17, 13-4 ATS when spread is 1-3.5, 25-13 ATS on road. I'm in. Equal travel for both teams (DAL was in CHA and MIA in ATL). MIA 15-23 ATS at home, bad 4th quarter team, 3-7 ATS last 10 at home. Tyler Herro just got back and had to play an OT game Tues night. I'm thinking Mavs want to carry this momentum to the playoffs.
