The proof, as they say, is in the pudding, and the Bucks sitting at just 3-7 since Doc Rivers took over midstream on the bench is an indictment of someone or something...and none of it is good. Little-mentioned in Milwaukee is that the composition and soul of the team took a blow with the trade of Jrue Holiday to Boston over the summer...things not the same since. Minnesota is flat-out better right now than the Bucks as the T-wolves showed in their recent 129-105 beatdown of Milwaukee at Fiserv Forum on Feb. 8, holding Giannis to 17 points in the process. Play T-wolves
This is a tough matchup for the former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Timberwolves boast the best defense in the league this season and their defensive frontcourt is nothing to fool with. Anchored by 3x DPOY Rudy Gobert the Wolves have size, length, and have been phenomenal against opposing bigs this season. It should come as little surprise that the Wolves surrender the second fewest rebounds to opposing PFs (9.28 RPG), in addition to the fewest assists allowed to the position (3.3 APG). Minnesota also plays at the 26th slowest pace and Milwaukee has been playing slower under Doc Rivers as well.
The Bucks have been better defensively under Doc Rivers but worse offensively and only 3-7 overall. Khris Middleton remains out and the offensive issues likely won't be solved until his return. The Wolves are 19-5 at home. Milwaukee has no one to check Anthony Edwards, who has scored 75 points over his last two games, tied for his most in a two-game span in his career.
