Our SportslineAI is projecting 28 points for Jaylen Brown. He had a strange previous game against the Philadelphia 76ers and still had 23 points. By strange I mean he scored 12 points in the first quarter then 11 the rest of the game. In fact he only took 3 shots in the 4th quarter despite playing the entire quarter. For the full breakdown watch Early Edge in 5 at 4pm ET.
Let's keep this one simple, I'd be SHOCKED if Boston lost this game tonight. I'd be almost as surprised if Tatum didn't go off but considering his troubles scoring at times in this series, the double double seems like the smart play. He's had double-digit points in all but one of the 84 games he's played in this season (Game 2 in this series) and has grabbed 10+ rebounds seven times this postseason. A 30+ point, 10+ rebound effort from Tatum should easily propel Boston to a 3-2 series lead.
It’s wild to think if James Harden misses his step-back in Game 1 over Al Horford, and if Marcus Smart shoots his shot .4 seconds faster in the last game, this series is over. Instead it’s 2-2, Philly is playing with house money and when you let teams hang around, they tend to bite you. I’ll gladly take all these points with the 76ers.
These are two inconsistent teams, so I’ve generally avoided playing the spread in this series. James Harden’s production has been all over the map, and Jayson Tatum has also had his ups and downs offensively. Even with that in mind, the over on this total has hit in three of four games. It’s simply too low to ignore.
