Today is an ideal matchup for Fried from an innings-eating standpoint: the Rays see the fifth fewest pitches per plate appearance so far this season, and profile as a below average lineup against left handed pitching. And against ground ball pitchers, they’ve strung together a measley .631 OPS thus far. I love this line at plus odds.

Rice has been a star on the young season with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and a batting average over .330. He hits in the middle of the Yankees potent lineup and is 1-for-2 lifetime with two RBIs against Rays starter Nick Martinez. With an RBI in 5 of 11 starts this season, I expect he'll do damage as the Bronx Bombers even their weekend series in Tampa Bay on Saturday.

This is a big line for a road team, but Max Fried vs. the Rays results in good things. He has a 1.35 ERA though three starts this season, and in 2025 he faced the Rays three times and allowed two earned runs on seven hits over 21.1 IP. Rays RHP Nick Martinez has been nearly as good so far, but the ceiling is much lower and the Tampa bullpen (6.70 ERA) offers little relief – pun intended.
