Backing Ranger Suarez and the Phillies here against Adam Mazur who I don't believe is all that good. Philly simply cannot lose two games in a row and Ranger Suarez from an underlying metric perspective (and surface level even) has been remarkably good, pitching to an xERA under three. The Phillies lineup of experienced hitters should be able to lay some runs on Mazur and the Marlins bullpen, as Mazur may have found some success at AAA but I don't buy it continuing in the majors. Talking about this on HQ!

FanDuel. Would bet this up to -155. Let’s head back to fading lefties versus Marlins well. After successfully fending off Jesus Luzardo last night, Miami will face Ranger Suarez. The Phillies’ southpaw pitches to contact, with a whiff rate in the 20th percentile. The Marlins called plus swinging strike rate is the seventh lowest over the last 30 days, and are running less than a 20% K% versus lefties over the same time period.

This is a big line for Ranger Suarez who has routinely been held under this line both this season and throughout his career. He’s also facing a stingy Marlins lineup that ranks bottom 6 in K Rate versus opposing southpaws, in addition to having good career numbers versus Ranger. I’d play this down to (-180) or a half unit at 4.5.
Miami is showing some signs of life with wins in four of five. They snapped the Phils' five-game win streak last night even if the locals were more preoccupied with the Panthers winning another Stanley Cup. Tonight the Marlins have to deal with Ranger Suarez, who is posting Steve Carlton-like numbers, allowing only 2 runs across 46 2/3 IP in his last seven starts, which equates to an 0.39 ERA (yes...0.39 ERA!!). Meanwhile, it's the first start of the season for Miami's Adam Mazur, who when last seen at the MLB level for the Padres a year ago was struggling with a 7.11 ERA in eight appearances. Play Phillies on the Run Line.
