The Mets continue to bash left-handed pitching and on Wednesday they face the Nats' Patrick Corbin. On June 5, New York battered Corbin for six earned runs, including three homers, in 5.1 innings. The Mets will have at least five batters in the lineup boasting a slugging percentage of .472 or better against southpaws. Mets starter Luis Severino owns a 2.82 home ERA. Lay the half-run in the first five innings.
I would totally play this at -1 if offered but it's not among our options. Not feeling the -1.5 love, and this is a little bit of value as I believe the Mets should be around -220 vs. Patrick Corbin, who hasn't been quite as awful this year but is still 1-5 with a 5.37 ERA on the road. Many NYM batters have good splits off him led by Pete Alonso. You know the Mets want to be above .500 entering the break and this would get them one over. Luis Severino is 3-1 with a 2.82 ERA at home.
This is an auto-fade for us. Washington’s Patrick Corbin is horrible, and in his prior start against the Mets, he gave up six runs and seven hits over 5 1/3 innings. He's lost five straight outings on the road, four of them by two or more runs. The Nationals’ run differential in that span is minus-19. Gulp. They are 1-9 in his last 10 starts, losing seven of them by at least two runs. Luis Severino has been very solid for the Mets, and his ERA is one run better at home (2.82).
