Think I'll always take Under a double-digit total in a non-weather or non-Denver game unless it's truly a brutal pitching matchup and that's not really the case here with James Paxton opposed by Tommy Henry -- although the Snakes do hit lefties like Paxton hard. Henry can be rather hit or miss but was very good last time out at the Cardinals. The Dodgers have never seen him. Arizona has had just one game with more than 10 combined runs scored in its past eight. Three of LA's past four have landed WAY Under this number. At 9.5 or even 10 maybe I don't play this.

The Dodgers' six-game winning streak ended yesterday and I don't think they start another here with James Paxton on the mound. His xERA is more than double his 2.61 ERA with his K rate in the tank and 17 walks on his ledger in 20.2 innings. Now he's in a tough environment at Chase Field against an offense that has crushed lefties this year, posting a .863 OPS against them versus a .641 OPS against righties. Arizona can outslug the Dodgers here or win by margin as L.A. has been boom (10+ runs in three of last seven) or bust (four runs or fewer seven other times in last 10 games).

Arizona and the LA Dodgers will meet for the first time since the Diamondbacks swept them in the postseason last year. It’s so tough to back the Diamondbacks with their untrustworthy bullpen, but they should have success at the plate to provide a cushion. They lead the MLB in batting average against left handed pitching, hitting over .300. Additionally, James Paxton has walked eleven batters over his last two starts. Take the Dbacks as the home underdog.

The D-Backs need a spark and he could provide it. He owns Paxton and hits him for average and power. Paxton doesn't go deep and Dodgers pen has some holes.

Dodgers hitting the ball better now. Ohtani comfortable in his new surroundings and facing a starter he can crush. He hasn't gone consecutive days without an RBI this month and he didn't have one yesterday. So I'm thinking he's due.
