While there is understandably a bit of doubt about picking the under in a game featuring James Harden and the Rockets, there are some strong trends pointing to this game going under. Most notably, the under has cashed in eight of the Rockets' last nine games. Additionally, this matchup features two teams who have been strong on the defensive end lately. The Rockets are allowing just 103.2 points per 100 possessions, which is the fourth-best defensive rating in the league in that span. During that same stretch, the Grizzlies have been solid as well, coming in with the 12th-best defensive rating.

Orlando has also won its last two games, and should have a good chance to make it three in a row against a Pelicans team that has won just once in the last two weeks. And not only have they been losing, but the Pels have been awful against the spread as well, going 1-6 in their last seven games. Meanwhile, the Magic have been dynamite at home lately. They're 8-1 straight up in their last nine games at home, and 7-2 ATS in those same contests.

The Pistons have turned their season around in recent weeks. They've won nine of their last 11 to get back to .500 and climb into the playoff picture. And as they've surged up the standings they've also done well against the spread, 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall, and 5-0 in their last five home games. The Pistons are at home, playing their best basketball of the season and have plenty of motivation with the playoffs on the line. They should be able to cover against the Wolves, who have been terrible on the road this season and face the added challenge of playing on consecutive nights.

This is a pretty big line, but I still feel confident in the Spurs here, even without DeMar DeRozan. For one, the Spurs have been strong at home this season, boasting a 19-7 record and a plus-7.3 net rating. Plus, they're 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games at home, and have quietly been better with DeRozan off the floor, especially on the defensive end. And then there's the Suns, who are just a disaster. They've lost eight straight games, and all but two of those have been by at least 14 points. Plus, they're without Deandre Ayton and are at the end of a tough three-game road trip.

The Cavaliers are the worst defensive team in the league by a rather wide margin, but I still feel comfortable taking the Under here. For one, the Cavs are also one of the worst offensive teams (26th in the league), and the Celtics boast one of the best defenses (5th). But more importantly, the Celtics won't have Kyrie Irving nor Al Horford in this game. When Irving is on the court, the Celtics' offensive rating is 113.5, which would be good for third in the league. When he's off the floor, their offense plummets, putting up just 100.9 points per 100 possessions, a mark that would be dead last in the league. And that doesn't even take into account Horford's absence. The Celtics should win easy, but they likely won't put up all sorts of points with those two out of the lineup.
