Understanding Public and Money
Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

When I look at the Cal Bears I see a team that is both physically and mentally tough. Despite their loss two weeks ago to UCLA, this team showed its mental toughness by getting up off the mat and traveling across country to take care of a pesky Syracuse team. In this game, they get the chance to take advantage of a Tigers squad making the trip and coming off of a big win. Reason why I believe in Cal is due to them having the upper hand at QB.
Let's not take Clemson's win over mediocre North Carolina too seriously. The Tigers still rank 128th (out of 138 FBS teams) in offense. Freshman QB Tait Reynolds makes his first road start -- and second overall -- in a short week and with a crazy-late kickoff at 10:30 (ET). Cal's offense has hardly set the globe on fire, but QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is legit. Clemson can't afford to overlook any opponent, but Miami being next on the schedule could serve as a slight distraction.
