Both have covered spreads the past two weeks (three straight for UCLA), but there the similarities end, as the Terps blew leads at home in galling fashion to Washington and Nebraska and don't bring much momentum to the Rose Bowl, even as frosh QB Malik Washington (10 TDP, just 2 picks) continues to impress. Mike Locksley's Maryland is also notorious for fades once into conference play. Meanwhile it's a different UCLA under interim Tim Skipper, who has the team energized and literally flying around the field, dismantling Michigan State last week after the massive Penn State upset.
