Top 20 online casinos in the US: Best legal sites this month

After reviewing regulated casino apps across four states, I've ranked the best operators based on game variety, bonus fairness, usability, jackpots, and payout speed.

With dozens of legal operators available across several regulated iGaming states, it's a tough task to find the top 20 online casinos. However, a handful of gaming sites like Golden Nugget and Caesars Palace rise above the rest for their game libraries, bonuses, secure deposit options, payout speed, and availability across multiple states.

I've thoroughly researched many regulated casino sites in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. See my top picks for the best real money online casinos in the USA below.

After closely examining many licensed casino apps across four states, I've decided only to present my top five because they're a cut above the rest. See my picks for the best all-around U.S. operators as of October 5, 2026.

BetMGM has the best online slots selection in regulated U.S. iGaming. While reviewing this site from Michigan, I noticed that it had over 5,200 slots alone. Add in other game categories like craps and baccarat table games, and live dealer, and you'll easily have access to over 6,000 games.

In addition to slots, this online casino offers more than 800 jackpot games. Included among these is BetMGM's own progressive jackpot network, which commonly offers mid-six-figure prizes.

Whether you're in MI, NJ, PA, or WV, I recommend BetMGM Casino if you value game selection above all.

DraftKings is definitely among the best online casinos for chasing jackpots. Its sitewide progressive network features a Mega Jackpot that commonly reaches seven-figure levels before being hit. You can opt in through various game types for $0.25 per spin/hand/round.

Besides its jackpot network, DraftKings has a nice collection of exclusive titles. These games cover everything from DraftKings Multihand Blackjack to Beat the Blitz. That said, I like this casino for both its huge jackpot prizes and exclusive games.

Golden Nugget is one of the few top 20 online casinos that lets you play demos without logging in or even registering. This aspect is nice for learning about the rules and features behind new games.

I've also found the Golden Nugget Casino app quite easy to use. It features plenty of categories in the game lobby, a handy search function, and limited clutter.

Assuming you're interested in playing here with the Golden Nugget online casino promo code, you shouldn't have any trouble getting started.

Borgata has some of the lowest playthrough requirements I've seen among NJ or PA online casinos. It requires 1x wagering requirements on bonus spins and 5x playthrough on casino credits. By comparison, some licensed U.S. online casinos require 15x or even 30x playthrough on credits.

As a sister site to BetMGM, Borgata delivers many of the same top-tier gaming perks, particularly when it comes to game selection. Its main drawback is availability, since it's currently restricted to New Jersey and Pennsylvania. However, if you're located in either of those states, Borgata Casino is well worth a look.

If you hate waiting on withdrawals, then Caesars Palace Online Casino is worth checking out. This gaming site commonly processes payout requests within a few hours. In the case of a debit card withdrawal, you could get your funds within several hours.

Caesars Palace is also well known for its rewards program, which provides access to many perks at its land-based properties. If you don't plan to visit any of its casino resorts, this program still offers online perks like airfare, Uber Eats coupons, and online free play.

Finding the top regulated casino apps involves more than just looking for the biggest welcome bonus. I evaluate every operator based on a mix of factors, and you can see my criteria below.

Any safe, legal gambling online casino will have licensing in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and/or Michigan. Strong regulation ensures that operators offer fair games, make timely payouts, and provide responsible-gambling tools.

Fast payouts accurately reflect an online casino's reliability. Many of the best real money online casinos in the USA process payouts within 24 hours or less.

Fair terms are just as important as size when it comes to welcome bonuses. I look for 1x playthrough on free spins and 5x–10x wagering requirements on casino credits. Longer expiration dates and low minimum deposits are also helpful.

An online casino doesn't necessarily need several thousand games to be considered. However, I like at least 1,000+ games spread across a variety of categories beyond slots.

A clean app layout combined with plenty of helpful game-lobby filters makes for fewer headaches when using an online casino.

My top online casino pick for this month is BetMGM due to its massive game selection, solid jackpots, and overall trustworthiness. DraftKings is a good second choice if you're focused on chasing the biggest prizes and/or want access to many exclusive titles.

Whatever online casino you choose, make sure you're 21+ and physically present in New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania before playing. Also, if you or anybody you know has a gambling problem, contact 1-800-GAMBLER for help.

Our editorial slots bonus recommendations are independent of commercial relationships and based solely on research involving playthrough, expiration dates, minimum deposits, and any other relevant terms and conditions.

Bettors must be 21 years or older and otherwise eligible to register and place wagers. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, please seek assistance from trained professionals such as the Problem Gambling Help Network at 1-800-MY-RESET.
