Le Football Fan: Online casino game maker taps into World Cup excitement
Developer Hacksaw Gaming introduced a new real money online slot with a World Cup twist in Le Football Fan.
The 2026 World Cup is set to kick off across North America, and Hacksaw Gaming is celebrating with the release of a new real-money online slot fittingly titled Le Football Fan. With its launch, the new game adds another installment to a series based around the popular Smokey Raccoon character.
Le Football Fan launches ahead of World Cup
Smokey returns in the new online casino real money game from Hacksaw Gaming, with Le Football Fan going live in multiple localized editions of the soccer-themed slot.
According to a press release, Le Football Fan was designed to "capture the passion and identity" of soccer supporters around the world. That is shown by Smokey donning team colors ranging from USA to England, Spain to Brazil, Argentina to Italy, Portugal to Sweden, and Mexico to the Netherlands.
With a return-to-player rate of up to 96.4% and a max win potential of 2,500x, Le Football Fan features symbols like standard coins and clovers as well as buckets of gold. On top of that, landing three, four or five FS symbols unlocks one of three bonus games – all of which makes Le Football Fan one of the top real money online slots in the Smokey series.
"Football fandom," Marcus Cordes, operational CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, said in a statement, "is driven by emotion, identity and huge shared moments – and that's exactly what we wanted to channel with Le Football Fan."
Hacksaw Gaming looks to continue upward trend of popularity
While perhaps not as well-known as other studios such as IGT or NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming has been an established and reliable game developer for some of the regulated industry's best online casinos.
With clients such as DraftKings Casino and Caesars Palace Online Casino, Hacksaw has produced many noteworthy and popular casino games online over the years.
That includes Hand of Anubis and Wanted Dead or a Wild. Of course, Hacksaw is also known for the Smokey series of slots such as Le Fisherman, Le Bandi and Le Viking.
Now, Hacksaw Gaming has rolled out Le Football Fan ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which the studio no doubt expects to draw some attention around matchdays.
