FanDuel. After successfully backing George Kirby on his strikeout line in a solid matchup against the Pirates, I’m looking to fade the righty. Kirby has only cleared this line in two of nine starts. Traditionally struggling more on the road, Kirby will have to contend with a Tigers lineup that features five hitters with a below average strikeout rate against right handed pitching.

George Kirby is a much different pitcher on the road this season and throughout his career. That is often the case with Mariners pitchers. He will face a very solid Detroit lineup. I’m still comfortable playing this at 17.5 at plus money,
Tarik Skubal didn't have his usual Skubal-ness Friday, but I have had a bit of a man-crush on former No. 1 overall pick Casey Mize (9-2, 2.63 ERA) since the spring. He starts today and was my longer shot play to win the Cy Young. That's probably not happening, but the door is a bit more open. At home, Mize is 5-0 with a 2.00 ERA. But Skubal was unbeaten at home too. What can I say, the Mariners and in particular the "Big Dumper" perplex me often. They are like an army of smart monkeys i.e. Superman -- saw it Friday night and it was great (Guardians vibe-ish). I will name something Krypto within the next 24 hours. But then I'm a Supes nerd.
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Detroit Tigers on Friday, but the home team is in a good position to bounce back after striking out ten times. In the 19 occasions this season in which the Tigers fanned 10 or more times, they are 13-6 (.684) in the very next game, an even better winning rate than their strong overall mark of .621. Detroit is 20-6 after any loss this year, and High-Strikeout games amplify that trend. Casey Mize (9–2, 2.63 ERA) is on the mound, limiting Seattle to a .212 batting average over 33 at-bats. George Kirby (3–4, 4.22 ERA) has struggled against the Tigers with an opposing batting average of .293 in 58 at-bats. I like the Tigers in this day game.
