Trying to expand my horizons a bit this NHL season, and yep that includes playing some Overs even though still am moderately allergic. But pretty much any Avalanche game at 5.5 has to be looked to the Over with their offense, and some of our books are at 6.5 so this may flip tomorrow. The Kings added a fair amount of offense at last year's trade deadline (Artemi Panarin) and in the offseason (few guys). If they score 3, this is going Over almost surely. The model has 6.7 goals.
LA had become notorious under Coach Hiller for trying to muddy the waters and grind out results; basically playing NHL OT roulette more often than not. I expect that to change with a new voice behind the bench in Peter Laviolette that could lead to higher event hockey than we've seen the past few years. This is close to where the total closed in the playoffs between these team teams and my opening night number here is closer to 6 O -115 so there's value to be had at Ball Arena.
