Jordan Binnington vs. Jake Allen in a matchup of talented goalies. With the Blues on the second leg of a road back-to-back, I expect fatigue to be a factor. And with these being two of the lower scoring teams in the league, I am playing the under.
This is the second game in a road back-to-back for St. Louis, but the Blues will have the advantage in net in Jordan Binnington. I expect a fairly low-scoring game (I'm also playing the under here) with a win for St. Louis.
We ride the recent streaks here and take a hard look at the Blues, who are in the midst of a legit playoff push. Wins in six of seven have St Louis back in the Western Conference playoff picture, with Jordan Binnington winning three of his last four starts in goal. His only loss in that span was by a 1-0 scoreline before the All-Star break vs. the Blue Jackets, and recent form superb, stopping 94 of the 101 shots he's seen in his last four starts. Also four straight road wins for the Blues, while the Canadiens continue to flounder, dropping five of their last seven. Play Blues on Money Line
Two of the bottom sixth offensive teams in the NHL. We won Under on the Habs Saturday and unfortunately they used their best goalie vs. Dallas, but I still have some faith in Jake Allen against his former Blues club. Also the second of a B2B for the Blues (Saturday went Under) but on the bright side they used their No. 2 on Saturday so we get No. 1 Jordan Binnington here.
Montreal will go with backup goalie Jake Allen, who is having a horrendous season. Allen is 5-12 with a 3.43 GA/G average and .901 save %. Allen is going against his old team the St Louis Blues and he has a 2-1 record but he game up at least four goals in all three games. Jordan Binnington is in goal for the Blues, Binnington had a 2.10 GA/G average in January. Montreal won both games last year, give the Blues 25 cents for revenge. My model has St Louis -140.
