Kenny White

Wizard of Odds

Kenny White learned the bookmaking business on his father's knee. By age 24 he was running a sportsbook and at 26 he was setting lines for Vegas' biggest casinos. A two-time winner of the prestigious Stardust Football Invitational, the originator of Player Power Ratings and the former head of the powerful Las Vegas Sports Consultants, Kenny arrived to SportsLine armed with new algorithms, ready to exploit mistakes in the betting line. He debuted with SportsLine in February 2017 and has gone 106-80 (57 percent) on college hoops ever since. For Kenny White media inquiries, contact SportsLine@CBSInteractive.com.

The Patriots defense is vastly improved from last year when they ranked 27th in the NFL in yards per play allowed. The Jags tied for first last year allowing just five yards per play and their defense could be even better this year. Jags Leonard Fournette is very questionable and I hope he does not play which will slow down their. offense.

I have the Raiders defense ranked 31st out of 32 teams, last year with Khalil Mack they ranked 27th in yards per play allowed. Case Keenum threw just seven INTs last year but threw three in Week 1, so look for him to play a far better game against a weaker defense. The Broncos allowed 6.2 yards per play last week and now must try to stop Derek Carr who will look far better after finally taking some snaps with the first team.

I rank the Colts defense last in the NFL, seven points below the average defense. Last year they finished 29th in the league allowing 5.9 yards per play. In week one they ranked 25th yards per pass allowed and 29th in yards per rush allowed at 5.1 yards. Andrew Luck returns to bolster the offense which also features T.Y. Hilton.

SDSU QB Christian Chapman is out 3-6 weeks with an MCL sprain, the Sun Devils have revenge from 30-20 loss in Tempe last year and oh yeah, ASU is 2-0 with a win over Michigan State. SDST backup QB Ryan Agnew threw two interceptions in 17 attempts last week versus Sacramento State.

The Huskies have by far the best defense in the MAC, ranking No. 7 in the entire country last year. NIU lost four out of its six top tacklers but returned eight of their top 12. I have NIU the No. 1 overall team in the MAC and Central Michigan the 10th best team out of 12. The Huskies prepped for conference against Iowa and Utah. Central Michigan lost at home to Kansas. CMU has beaten Northern Illinois four straight years so expect an ultra-focused Husky team.
