You know, I try not to fall into betting the popular teams/favorites. But they are favored for a reason. This is simple to me: Aaron Rodgers > Jared Goff. And the Lions just told their players its punt time by trading TJ Hockenson. As a Bears fan, I honestly hope this is a scoreless tie.
The Packers' four-game losing streak and 3-5 ATS mark have made them one of the hardest teams to assess. Sunday’s matchup will mark their third straight road game, but it is a divisional matchup. Over the years Aaron Jones has torched the Detroit Lions through both the ground and out of the backfield. Detroit’s pour defense should position the Packers for a breakout performance offensively, and their first road win. Take the Packers.
Green Bay has lost its past four games and is 1-4 ATS in its past five. The Packers offense looked better last week as they covered at Buffalo, with the running game providing 208 yards. The Lions put their offense on display again last week after horrible showings at Dallas and at New England. The Lions have lost five in a row (1-4 ATS), but they’ll play well at home against a division opponent. I took the points with the Lions and expect a high-scoring game.
The Lions looked like the worst team in the league over their previous two games heading into facing the Dolphins, but the offense got back on track by scoring on each of its first five drives and took a double-digit lead into halftime. The defense is still terrible, but it will get to face a Packers offense that has not looked right for much of the year. That Packers team is playing a third straight road game with four of their last five away from Lambeau Field (including one in England). Considering that bad travel spot, I don't think this line should be north of 3, and I have this line at Packers -2 with the Lions offense back on track.
