If the Steelers were playing at home with their full complement of players, I could see them being undervalued in this spot. The problem is that neither of those is the case. Pittsburgh is without its top weapon in Chase Claypool, and Ben Roethlisberger at 39 is a shell of his former self. Aaron Rodgers basically told Packers fans to R-E-L-A-X last week ahead of Green Bay's road win over San Francisco. I told you to listen, did you? Because I did and rode the Packers to an ATS victory. Let's roll that way again. Even if Green Bay struggles early, it should pull away in the second half.
For the second time this year, the Steelers find themselves as near-touchdown underdogs on the road. Their offense has done little to support their defense. On Sunday, look for the Packers to show a little bit of rust after consecutive weeks of primetime games. In what may be a grind-it-out affair, take the underdog Steelers.
The Steelers’ offense ie getting worse by the week, with 23 points scored in the opener, followed by 17 and 10. It ranks 26th in yardage, 28th in scoring. Now the men of steel must soldier on without their best WR, Chase Claypool, while the next favorite option, JuJu Smith-Schuster, is iffy. Green Bay has heated up after a TD-less opener, with 65 points rung up the past two games. The expected return of LB T.J. Watt and fellow defenders from injury gives Pittsburgh a puncher’s chance, but QB Aaron Rodgers is on a tear.
The Packers offense has gotten back on track, and the defense actually put together a great first half against the 49ers before a long return sparked San Francisco and it turned into a competitive game in the second half. But the Packers defense should put together a full game this week against a lifeless Pittsburgh offense that can't throw downfield and can't run the ball. The Pittsburgh defense could be better if T.J. Watt can get back on the field, but are they going to completely shut down the Packers offense at Lambeau Field? Green Bay has scored at least 20 points in every home game since the start of 2019, and honestly, that might be enough to cover here.
