I was leaning toward the Eagles in this matchup earlier in the week as I didn't want to lay points with a questionable offense on the road, but then I got a look at the Eagles' injury report on Friday, with nine players ruled out, including Miles Sanders, DeSean Jackson, Dallas Goedert, Fletcher Cox and Derek Barnett. Couple that with the questionable motivation factor for Philadelphia off getting eliminated, and there's only so much we can expect from the Eagles in this game. I also believe turning the page on Dwayne Haskins is the type of thing that can bring the roster together for the most important game of the season. Washington could turn this one into a rout if the Eagles are checked out.

Alex Smith returned to practice Thursday, giving Washington a major boost. The Eagles have been eliminated and likely will sit a slew of banged-up players, including Fletcher Cox, Miles Sanders, Dallas Goedert and Derek Barnett. This line could close higher so I'm jumping on it now.

Tread carefully with this one until there is more clarity on Alex Smith. He did practice Thursday, which provides a clue that Washington is counting on him to start. Other injury issues are hanging over the Football Team, but they are moderate compared to the banged-up Eagles. Teams eliminated from the playoffs recently have done well ATS against foes in a win-or-else situation. However, those squads rarely have a tower of injuries piled up. While QB Jalen Hurts has revived the Philly offense, Washington, with just 21 TD passes allowed, will prevent him from going off.

I'm not worried about Taylor Heinicke possibly having to play in place of Alex Smith. He played well in his brief stint last week, but, more importantly, he won't have to do much. Washington's defense will carry this team to the division title. The unit ranks in the top five in the NFL in total defense, scoring defense and sacks and will feast on rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts. Give me Washington.
