Will the Bills rest starters here? It's possible they'll need to win to get the No. 2 seed instead of No. 3, but that's only if the Steelers win as 10-point 'dogs while sitting Ben Roethlisberger and others. So the outcome is likely not to matter for Buffalo ... who rested Josh Allen in Week 17 last year. Maybe we'll see Matt Barkley again, even if only for part of the day? On the other side, I expect a Brian Flores-coached team to be very game in a win-and-they're-in scenario. Grab the points.
There's a chance of snow in Buffalo but the wind will be only 5 to 8 miles per hour. The turf will be fast for the offense, but slippery for the defense. Go Over.
The Bills need a win to clinch the No. 2 seed, so I expect Josh Allen to play the entire game. Allen is used to this type of weather coming from Wyoming. Miami is in a whole new climate.
The Bills offense is on fire, and if I expected them to go all out in this game I might be scared of them pushing this game Over the total almost singlehandedly. But I doubt Sean McDermott risks injury to his key players, most of all Josh Allen, by using them all game. Tua Tagovailoa hasn't shown the ability to score touchdowns in bunches, even getting himself benched last week due to poor play. Extended play by Matt Barkley should be more than enough to keep this Under the total.
Buffalo coach Sean McDermott hasn't said whether he will rest any key starters, only that there's a "plan." Going off what he did last season in Week 17, he's going to rest guys. Buffalo should get the AFC's No. 2 seed regardless; it would with a win but also would with a loss and Steelers loss in Cleveland, and Pittsburgh is resting starters and most likely will lose. Thus, I doubt Josh Allen sees the field here -- especially on a short week. Meanwhile, Miami must win for its playoff hopes (it could get in with a loss, but not likely).
