This line has flipped for good reason, with the Bills locked into the No. 5 playoff seed. New York has a chance to go 6-2 in the second half of the season, and probably should have beaten the Bills in the first meeting.
The Bills aren't going to risk injury to their key players with nothing to gain in terms of playoff seeding, so I expect them to treat this like a preseason game. That won't be the case for the Jets, who can finish the second half 6-2 with a win and then blame the sluggish start on injuries and the schedule. With this line close, I think we have to fade the team that will be looking ahead to next week and hop on the Jets.
Buffalo is locked into the fifth seed in the AFC and will be looking to rest some of its starters early in this game. Even if it doesn't, I don't think it would matter as the Jets have been playing much better on both sides of the ball since these teams met in their season opener. I expect New York's offense to score points in the second half, enough for the team to steal a victory.
The Jets have won five of their last seven games, and they’ll finish the season against a team that has nothing to play for, as the Bills are locked into the fifth seed. Buffalo has yet to say whether it will rest any starters, but even if it doesn’t, this isn’t an easy matchup by any stretch. The first meeting between these teams was just a one-point Bills win, and the Jets’ No. 2 run defense by DVOA matches up well here. Grab the point.
Buffalo is one of two teams locked into a playoff seed - fifth in the AFC - and likely will limit or sit its starters. The Jets were eliminated long ago but have built end-of-season momentum with five wins in their last seven games. Whatever weather conditions descend on this contest won’t be an issue for the acclimated-to-cold visitors.
