May be having a stroke as I'm playing a road NBA team, but with how many guys are just not playing most nights, I'm clearly gonna have to open things up a bit. And this was only being played if two key questionable Atlanta guys in Kristaps Porzingis and Zaccharie Risacher were available. They are and should dominate up front with no Wemby in there. Oddly, the Hawks have been better away. Not only are the Spurs without Wemby but also Stephon Castle.
The San Antonio Spurs got away with one in their last matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, in which they ended the game on an 11 to 0 run. Tonight, they will face an Atlanta Hawks team that has been far superior on the road then at home. On the road they have a 7-2 record, and are just coming off sweeping a four game west coast road trip. Take the Hawks here.

FanDuel. Jalen Johnson has been awesome for the Hawks since Trae Young went down. Clearing this line in 6/9 games without Trae, Johnson has at least 42 PRA in four straight outings. There is sneaky value on the matchup against the Spurs too, despite how good they look defensively on paper. No Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle tonight - the Spurs best two defenders. Wemby of course is a massive reason for the Spurs being ranked third in paint points allowed - I don’t see that being prohibitive for Johnson tonight. I’d bet this to over 39.5.
I am sad for the Spurs because we don’t know what life without Victor Wembanyama is going to look like. And they are without reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle tonight as well. The Hawks are playing really good basketball. They are sharing the rock and making open shots. Give me Atlanta on the money line.

Jalen Johnson has taken on a leading role for the Hawks with Trae Young injured. Not only has he averaged 22.7 points over the last nine games without Young, but he has also averaged 10.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists. With Victor Wembanyama out for the Spurs, rebounds might be easier for Johnson to come by. His points prop is on the rise, so I’ll pivot and take the over on his combined rebounds and assists.

Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper will all be sidelined when the Spurs take on the Hawks. With them out Tuesday against the Grizzlies, Harrison Barnes played 32 minutes and scored 23 points. The game prior, he scored 20 points across 30 minutes against the Kings. Barnes has been an efficient scorer, shooting 55.5% from the field and 48.6% from three this season. With additional minutes and shot attempts likely coming his way again, I like this over.
