Johnson is an emerging player that should have a nice night against a Dallas team that will play with pace, but will largely play will backups. I was desperate to find an angle on this game and after hearing our experts including Larry Hartstein, this is what I choose.

Jalen Johnson enters on an incredible tear, racking up 56 rebounds and 30 assists over his last five games. That comes out to 17.2 per game. He's played 35-plus minutes in each of those games and finished with double-digit rebounds four times. The 22-year-old budding star should have a similar impact Monday vs. a Dallas team on the second night of a road back-to-back. This game has the night's highest total and should feature a fast pace, which only helps the bet.

Luka Doncic (wrist) has missed three of the last four games for the Mavericks. Naji Marshall scored at least 13 points in each of those games. Going back even further, Marshall has scored at least 13 points in five of his last six games. In both of his last two games, he scored at least 20 points. I love this over for him against a Hawks team that has played at the second-fastest pace in the league.
Normally we'd wait for lineups, but I think there's a shot the Mavs rest Kyrie Irving after playing nearly 40 minutes last night in Miami and then this obviously would jump significantly. PJ Washington did play 40 in the overtime loss so maybe he gets a break. And obviously still no Luka Doncic. The Hawks are not great but are finally pretty healthy and have been off since Friday. I'm sure Trae Young to this day still gets fired up to face Dallas -- do you even remember he was originally drafted by the Mavs but then immediately swapped for Luka?
