This is the first game of a back-to-back set for the Warriors. They will play a much more difficult Pelicans team Friday. For this road game against the tanking Trail Blazers, Draymond Green (knee) and Klay Thompson (knee) are listed as questionable. I’m leaning towards both sitting out. Jackson-Davis has already been productive since moving into the starting lineup, averaging 11.0 points and 8.3 rebounds over the last eight games. He has taken the floor against the Trail Blazers two times this season. The first game, he had 14 points and eight rebounds over 18 minutes. The second game, he finished with 13 points and five rebounds across 17 minutes. He could push for 30 minutes in this game, so take the over.
TJD is starting to get a nice run ahead of the playoffs and if this game goes as the line projects, then a lot of the Warriors old heads will be cheering from the bench while kids like him get a run. These teams haven't met since DEC, when this kid was still finding a role, but he had 13+5 in 17 min and 14+8 in 18 min vs POR in games played just a few days apart. I'm guessing this is something Steve Kerr will lean into tonight with TJD playing at least 20 min every game since 3/7. In last 7G vs non-playoff teams, TJD avg 26.5 Min/G. I could easily see a double-double tonight if GS has another fast start on road.
Deandre Ayton has been posting some monster stat lines for a Blazers roster that consists of G-League players, rookies, and 10 day contracts. The Blazers have thrown in the towel on this season and Ayton is getting the opportunity to be the first option on offense. Meanwhile his opponent, the Warriors, are still jockeying for playoff positioning and have been playing excellent defense down the stretch. They've done a really good job at limiting the opposing teams number one scoring option. There is also some real blowout threat here with GS checking in as 14 point favorites.
