The Knicks are 27 in pace…..and they are the speedsters (Denver is 30). Defense will be at the forefront. Under.
Randle’s game doesn’t match up well v Gordon. Plus Denver and the Knicks play slow. This number is too high. Under.
There is no mistaking the impact OJ Anunoby has had on the Knicks since his acquisition from the Raptors just in front of New Year's. New York has won 10 of 12 since, but beyond that, Anunoby's excellent and versatile defensive skills provide a lot of flexibility for Tom Thibodeau to employ his various defensive schemes. That has contributed greatly to the Knicks' current 11-1 run across the same span, while the visiting Nuggets are also "under" their last three on this Eastern road swing. Play Nuggets-Knicks "Under"
Another test here for the Knicks, who have been passing most of theirs with flying colors across the past couple of weeks. Since New Year's, in fact, and the debut of OJ Anunoby after his acquisition from Toronto; New York is 10-2 SU since, as the added flexibility Anunoby's defensive prowess provides to Tom Thibodeau's various schemes has been a bonus. Denver has won its last three on this road trip but couldn't get over the pointspread hump in the last two vs. the Wiz and Pacers, and has hardly been a must-back proposition vs. the spread, especially on the road, where it has covered just one of its last seven. Play Knicks
This is going to be a fascinating matchup between two of the NBA's hottest teams. It's a tough spot for Julius Randle specifically who will be guarded by Aaron Gordon who for my money is the league's best on ball defender at any position. Gordon wears so many hats for Denver and is one of their unsung heroes. The Nuggets rank dead last in possessions per game, while New York is 27th, so we're expecting a paced down game with minimal possessions.
