As always, want to make sure of LeBron's status, as he is dealing with a calf contusion that has kept him out of some recent games. But the in-season tournament seems a priority for the Lakers, and LeBron has played often enough in recent weeks to assume his availability. AD is also supposed to play despite his hip issues, and in these sort of focused games, the Lakers will not want to push the pace too much if LeBron isn't running at 100%. Also note Phoenix has gone five straight games without a scoreline clearing 230 points. Play Suns-Lakers "Under"
The Lake Show seems to be taking this in-season tournament quite seriously, as the fan base will probably celebrate another banner being raised at Crypto.com Arena if the occasion arises. LeBron still dealing with a calf issue but has often been playing thru that in recent weeks, while AD is apparently good to go as he plays thru a hip injury. The Suns already lost once at home to the Lakers, and now go to LA for this one, and look to have lost a bit of momentum the past week with losses in two of three after reeling off seven straight wins thru Thanksgiving week. Play Lakers
Anthony Davis is a man of streaks...and it looks like we're rolling into a streak of unders. The Lakers have been plagued by a few injuries that have forced LeBron and Davis to play a little more/harder than usual. That is no longer the case tonight, and I expect Davis' minutes to be closer to 30. He averages just 39 pts+rebs+ast at home. Look for Nurkic to give him a little trouble tonight, and for Davis in general to get a lighter work load. Our model makes the number 35.8.
Obviously I recommend you wait to make sure LeBron James plays but I will be long medicated to help me sleep by that point, so we'll just have to assume he is playing. There seems to be a consensus that James does want to win this In-Season Tournament. Third game in four nights for Phoenix. Maybe no Eric Gordon I guess.
This line has already moved a point higher from earlier in the morning. Still, Durant has scored at least 29 points in 11 of his 18 games this season. He is averaging 31.0 points per game, overall, and is shooting 51.2 percent from the field. The last time he faced the Lakers, he scored 38 points in a game that Booker missed, but Bradley Beal played in. Look for him to score in bunches again in this rematch.
The Suns remain without Bradley Beal (back), who has played in just three games all season. With him out, Devin Booker has a 32.6 percent usage rate and is shooting 47.2 percent from the field. That is a great recipe for a lot of points. With Booker having scored at least 28 points in seven of the 11 games that he has played, take the over here. Shop around for the best odds as there is lower juice out there.
